Four weeks had passed since that three days break. I ended my birthday with a broken heart ... but the following two days was somehow fun because there was no Jeno around and I've got a chance to talk to Laurelle.

It was around three in the morning, 30th of June, 2023, when I decided to go out to witness the loud cries of the sea and the peaceful sky above it.

I was sitting on the beach's fine white sand, enjoying the sound of waves, when a girl in white dress suddenly sat beside me. Of course, I was startled because who would not? scenarios like that always happen in most of the horror movies and I thought I'd be experiencing that in real life, my soul left my body for a moment that time.

Laurelle ended up lying on the white sand, laughing, hands on her tummy, while teasing me about my epic reaction to what happened earlier.

Dang it! she's really pretty.

"Gulat ka 'no?" she copied the voice from that one tide advertisement on TV.

"Dati ka bang multo?" I asked, tumawa lang ito bago umupo at pinagpag pa ang damit para tanggalin ang mga buhangin.

"Kumusta?" she asked and gave me a genuine sweet smile. Gosh, that smile... it's melting me.

"As you can see, I'm still breathing fine, miss." tumayo ako at umikot ikot pa sa harapan niya bago ulit ako umupo.

"Marunong ka palang huminga? wow! amazing!" she joked.

Tinanaw ko ang ma-iingay na alon sa dagat. How can it still be this beautiful and calming despite the loud noises?

"Are you happy, Laurelle?"I asked her.

Her hazelnut eyes met mine. "I am more than happy, Lucas. I never thought I would be experiencing this kind of happiness again." she said bago humangad sa langit at pumikit. "wooh! the cold fresh air!" she shouted. Nililipad ng hangin ang magandang itim na buhok ni Laurelle. Goddess.

"I'm happy to hear that."

"I want to shine brighter than that star." she said, pointing the brightest bluish white star above.

"You can always shine brighter than those every stars above, Laurelle." I said and look at her pretty face while she was still looking up.

"Do you think my mom and your parents are one of those uncountable shining stars, Lucas?" she asked.

"They are. They are always looking down here, checking on us. They are always up there guiding us with their beautiful lights."

"I miss my mom. I never got the chance to tell her how I love her. Life is so cruel. Pain and sadness took my mom away, and I am fighting the urge to do the same." she opened up.

That was our first time opening up to each other, we never really talked about the problems that almost lead us to take our own life on that abandoned bridge last year.
