the past week i've been trying my best to nurse cain back to health at home

he broke his wrist, and had a deep gash in his abdomen

but nothing a hospital cast and some bandages can't fix

haha..

anyways

he has been doing well

but he keeps insisting to take me out pre- honeymoon shopping

so here we are

i looked at cain as we entered the lingerie store

his eyes lingering across the intimate shop

a woman looked at him, checking out his physique

"why is it always him." i whispered, rolling my eyes

she walked up to us, smiling upon arrival

oh goodie, people

"hi, i'm macy. Nice to meet y-" she held her hand out to cain

who walked around her, heading towards a mannequin

"you would look good in this." he looked at me

"we are actually sold out. Sorry, it's our most busy collection." she looked at me awkwardly

"oh, well it's alright." i looked at her

while cain walked over to us, a pair in his hands

and the mannequin.. naked

"sir, you can't strip our mannequins."

"why not?" he reached towards his waistband

the woman jerked back, reaching for her intercom mic

when cain pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts

then pressing call

she placed a hand on her heart, exhaling while leaning against the counter

i slapped his shoulder, walking across the store

i took the lingerie from him, placing it back on the mannequin

"boring." he reached in my purse, pulling out a marker

drawing two dots on the mannequin's breasts

immediately cracking up afterwards

"you're so immature." i bit back a laugh

"get used to it, we're getting married in a couple months." he hugged me from behind, kissing my cheek

i bought everything i picked up from the store

well, he did

he pulled a chair for me, then walked away to get the food we pre-ordered

i sighed, thinking back to all that has happened in the last month

"is this what love does to you?" i asked myself, resting my head on my arm

when i heard footsteps approaching me

i turned my head, and there he was

bringing our food

"oh shit, i forgot about your wrist." i ran up to him, grabbing the food from his hands

"i can still carry things." he lightly smiled

which quickly dropped, when he saw my expression

"what's wrong?" he put his hand on mine, rubbing it on the table top

"why didn't you jump down?"

he sighed, sitting back in his seat

"i can't escape this question, huh?" he lightly chuckled, opening his food container

"i killed mio."

i choked on my food, sitting it out in a napkin

"i wasn't sure if i was going to make it or not. So i said my goodbyes. Just in case."

he says it like it's such a light topic

"oh yeah, dying and leaving behind your fiancée and our chil-" he shoved a piece of chicken in my mouth, looking around at the other people staring

because of my loud volume

"i'd rather die knowing your safe from mio. Than continuing to live through the running and hiding shit." he forked his food

making my heart feel warm

"how are you so sure he is gone?"

"yea mia, humans can stop their pulses magically, oh and even better-." he moved his face closer to mine

"survive decapitation." he sat back, waiting for my reaction

and well

he got one

i widened my eyes

"and your mother?"

"dead, you heard it." he sighed

he obviously doesn't like speaking on that topic

"basically, i killed mio and the building collapsed."

"it broke my heart hearing you scream my name." he looked down

scream his name..

he looked up at me, knowing i took what he said the wrong way

"that's what-"

"stop." he warned

"that's what she s-" he shoved another piece of chicken in my mouth

shutting me up

"eat amore mio, you're gonna be burning lots of calories tonight." he smiled, watching me chew

"no i won't" i looked at his cast

"yea, we'll see."
