he jogged towards me, the sun setting behind him

i wiped my face, unaware of the absurd amount of tears that have ran down my face

"i'm sorry." he hugged me, his fast pace throwing me back a little

i tucked my heart in his chest, his chin resting on my head

"i'm so sorry" he whispered, placing kisses on my forehead

"why are you sorry? you didn't do anything." i sniffled, wiping my face with my sleeve

"why do they talk to you like that?"

"because, i'm a girl. They've never treasured me like how a family should do for their youngest; especially youngest girl."

"only my father really did that, and that was occasional."

i bit my lip back, keeping tears from flowing

"guess that's why i always wanted another man in my life."

yet that always goes wrong

i sat on the street curb, wiping my face with my sleeve

the smell of fresh wind, and sweet lillies, growing from the ground, calmed my anxious being

he sat beside me, handing me a small box

i opened it, looking down at his cookie that had 'bellissima + bunny' iced across it

i looked up at him

"you don't have to brag that you won." i joked around with him, reassuring him that i'm okay

he laughed with me

"the only people i'd die for." he looked down at the cookie, ruffling my hair

and just like that

my heart started beating fast again

i broke the cookie in half, giving him the other half

eating it, and resting my head on his shoulder

we watched the sun set, while finishing up our dessert

"i'd die for you too."

after being outside for half an hour we decided it was time to go back inside

plus it was getting dark outside

he grabbed my hand, leading me back towards the house

he slowly opened the front door, to yelling and chaos

all eyes turned to us, and cain attempted to close the door back

but torrian had thrown it open, grabbing cain's collar

it was useless because torrian is 10 times smaller than cain

but it was a funny sight to see

"sì?" cain raised his eyebrow

"your pull out game is useless." torrian yelled

"sì" cain replied, bored with whatver torrian was trying to do

that's when elena ran up to me, hugging me

"i told you, you were pregnant." she screamed, moving me side to side in the embrace

she jumped off of me, running out of the door

"where are you going?" torrian said

"baby shopping, i'm an aunt." she squealed grabbing her keys, and closing the door

"you're joking right? you don't even have a place to liv-" dante shut my nonna up, by placing a cookie in her mouth

"you mean.. i'm a uncle?" he walked up to us, hands in his pockets

"sì"

i slapped cain's chest, in response to his repetition of the same word

he chuckled, looking down at me

"congrats little sis" he hugged me, rubbing my back

i pushed him off of me, taking cain's gun from his waistband

"why are you being nice? are you mio?" i pointed it at his chest

"seriously?" he narrowed his eyes

"oh, haha." i put the gun back, going back in for a hug

his embrace was warm and comforting

i don't remember the last time he has hugged me, or been nice to me

but i'll enjoy the moment

"i'm sorry for being a bad brother all your life." he whispered, patting my back

i frowned, emotions taking over my body again

when he was snatched off of me

"since you want to grow up so fast. You can leave this house." my nonno yelled, opening the front door

"you live here rent free." dante crossed his arms

"all of our names are on the house, but y'all's aren't."

dante standing up for me?

wow, today is different

cain grabbed my hand, running out to the car

jumping into the drivers seat, and buckling my seatbelt in the passenger

"where are we goi-"

"want to take your anger out on someone?"

"always" i replied, intrigued

"let's visit some Bianchi's."
