i woke up from my nap to a abormally quiet house

"is cain here?" i say to myself, rubbing my eyes

i look at the clock that read '3:45 pm'

i got up out of bed to see that i am still naked

i grabbed one of his shirts that i stole before i went into a coma and put it on

shh i had to fantasize about him somehow

i walked down stairs to the kitchen to get some food

i'm starving

i open the fridge to the usual

empty

this is what life is like living with brothers, they keep eating your food

until i saw a container with my name on it with a note

'eat it or i will' i open the container to see a burger and fries from the same diner that we went to that night he became vulnerable with me

"aweee that's cute i guess" i mumbled and put the food in the microwave

"ouch"

i turn around to a smirking cain holding his hands to his chest like he got shot

"i drive 30 minutes and back to get you food and you are unappreciative? wow no wonder you're single"

wait.. i'm single i forgot we weren't together

shit

the microwave chiming interrupted my thoughts

i grabbed my food and walked to the kitchen island and sat on a stool

"thanks asshole" i started eating my food

he walked into the kitchen area i was in and stood across from me leaning against the counter with his hands in his pockets

"don't tell me this food comes with something in return , in that case i'll put this burger down now" i said serious to him

he just laughed

what's funny i want to laugh

"bellissima, i know you are upset i haven't asked you to be my girlfriend" he looks into my eyes

reading me

"what makes you think that" i shrug my shoulders and dig into my fries

"when i left your room this morning what happened" he grins

no.

i thought he left

"well if you didn't leave me hanging i wouldn't have had to resort to it" i said bold but on the inside i'm so embarrassed

"mhm" he gets up and walks out the kitchen

i let go of the breath that i have been holding on to forever

is he wearing sweatpants?!!!

and they are gray!!

i look immediately so i can get a good glance before he completely walks out the kitchen

"don't snap your neck mia" he laughs in the distance

i'm gonna die of embarrassment one day

i've been sitting in the living room bored on my phone

i haven't seen cain since his comment i guess he went to work in his office

"ugh" i groaned out of boredom

until i got a good idea

'good' yea right

"i'm going to make a lemon pound cake" i smiled and turned on my speaker playing my favorite songs

i followed instructions online but my batter looked a bit stuck..

i'm not the best at baking

"if your batter is thick make sure eggs are added"
i read off my phone quietly

"shit"

how do you forget eggs dumbass

i already put the cake in the oven and it smelled delicious

well until i left it in for 15 extra minutes..

how did i even do that?

i ran to the oven that was surprisingly
not on fire or smoking

i opened it to a crispy cake

"fuck" i took the cake out and let it cool

i took my homemade glaze and spread it all over the cake "that should make it taste better"

that is not correct

i was about to take a bite when

"what are you doing, and what's that horrible smell" he walked up to me

my smile instantly dropped

"maybe it's your balls" i shrugged

"haha." he said with a straight face and grabbed a slice of cake

"i'm guessing you made it"

i nodded

"let's try it together" i clinked our plates together

and we put it in our mouths

my mouth and eyes watered of how sour and sweet it was

"i added way to much lemon glaze" i said spitting it out

then i looked at him still eating it

"how can you take that? it's so sweet" i said touching my salivating cheeks

"i've had sweeter" he grinned, looking me up and down while licking the icing off the spoon

then walked out the kitchen

oh my.
