i was staring at myself in awe

"wow" i heard Elena whisper

i turned around to see her wiping tears form her eyes

"Why are you emotional?" i laughed softly, pulling her in for a hug

"It's like deja vu" she uttered, through her breaking voice

"what do you mean" i put a arm on her shoulder

"I was a teen mom, and i remember watching my little girl go to her first dance." she sniffled

"i miss her so much" she whispered, wiping her face

"if its my place to ask. May i know where she is now?" i placed a comforting hand on hers

maybe i can help her locate her child

"in the next life."

"my ex was abusive and he, he kille-" she broke down into tears

"i'm sorry" she got up and walked to my bathroom

"take your time" i said

and she shut the bathroom door

i shouldn't have gotten into her business so soon

after a good 6 minutes she came back out, with a smile on her face

i couldn't tell if it was forced or not

"but seriously, you look beautiful. This isn't about me" she hugged me

and i returned the hug

i looked back to see cain standing in my doorway with a bouquet of roses

my favorite flower

he admired my beauty, looking at me from head to toe

"you really know how to live up to the nickname bellissima" he smiled

i walked up to him, and gently took the flowers from his hand, smelling them

"thank you, really" i smiled up at him

i almost forgot we weren't together

our bodies gravitated towards each other

our lips almost connecting

"mia?"

i turned my head to see mio, behind cain

with a bouquet of tulips in his hand

he looked hurt, and he lowered his hand with the flowers

causing some of the petals to hit the floor

"mio, hey" i pushed myself off of cain walking to him

i kissed him, but it wasn't returned

it's like he was stuck

"you look great" i fixed his jacket

"so do you" he softly smiled

why is he acting different now?

"i didn't know what flowers you liked, so i got tulips" he awkwardly raised the flowers

"but if you like roses i-"

"no, no, mio i love tulips" i grabbed the flowers and smelled them

"figlio di puttana" cain mumbled, and walked down the stairs

disappearing from my sight

i wish i could disappear

where is a magician when you need one

i walked down the stairs, connecting hands with mio

my brothers and cain were waiting for us at the bottom of the stairs

i made short eye contact with cain

he didn't have any emotion on his face

but his eyes never lie

jealousy

"do you guys have dates?" i asked my brothers

"yea, i asked this girl i met at the bar" malakai said, earning hand claps from my brothers

we all looked to cain

"i've been talking to her for a while, she is waiting for me at the ball" he smirked

and all eyes turned to me

mio was the only one who didn't look

he only squeezed my hand in possession

"oh, cool" i tried my best to play off raising jealousy

mio pulled me closer to him

wrapping his arm around the back of my neck

like i was his fucking bro

"and i have this beautiful girl li-mia" he chuckled

what the fuck did he say?

i don't think anybody else caught that but me

because my brothers were clapping for him

but cain and i made eye contact

he heard it too

"alright let's go" our personal chauffeur said, opening the door

we started walking off when i felt a hand gently grab my arm

"mia, come" elena said, pulling me to the side

"that cain guy, choose him" she said, in a hurry

"how did y-"

"you're so fucking easy to read. Now go girl" she patted my back and walked out the door

heading to her car

she is right

okay, i'll tell mio at the ball, i don't want to be with him anymore

he seems to be in a good mood
