"can we talk about this some other time?" he sighed, looking at the menu

"because we used to-" he paused, looking at the silent table
"another time." he placed a hand on her thigh
"so i'm another one of your little sluts right? you want to try me out and throw me away when you're done?" she raised her voice
causing the other guests to look our way
"elena please, another time."
"fuck you." she grabbed her purse, slapping him across the face
treading towards the bathroom
i went to go after her, but he stopped me
"i got it" he grabbed his jacket, running after her

and the guests started to talk again, now that they were gone
"warned her" her brother flipped through the menu, shaking his head
could this day please get less eventful?
"can i start you off with dri- where did dante go?" the waitress looked around
seeing his chair empty
"home wrecker" i mumbled, looking at the menu
"excuse me?" she leaned down to hear me better
"home wr-" cain covered my mouth, ordering my drink for me
after the waitress left he looked over to me, lightly smiling
"what's your beef with waitresses?" he laughed, kissing my forehead
i leaned my head on his shoulder, feeling at ease again
interlocking fingers with him
"i remember when you hated him." torrian laughed, pointing at us

"not everyone here is.." i hinted at elena's brother
attempting to shut torrian up
"no, no, you hated his guts. You even blew up-" i shoved a piece of appetizer bread in his mouth
"- blew up his bathroom." i laughed, waving my hand in front of my nose
my tone full of hurt
from all this embarrassment
the measures i have to take to keep this mafia thing a secret are going far

"mia, we are about to eat." my nonno slammed his hand on the table
and cain was laughing beside me
elena and dante came back from the bathroom
