Chapter Seven- Why Me, Why Now, Just Why?

Arizona's pov

Sofia got scared at her sleepover and if coming home, and Callie knows. She knows my biggest secret now. I need to drink. I need to go to a trashy bar and get drunk. It was my night to watch Sofia, but I can't. I just can't. I got dressed in tight jeans and a nice blouse before walking to the kitchen.

"Callie, can you take Sofia tonight? I... need the night to myself." I said awkwardly.

"Sure.... But why?" She responded in the same tone.

My tone changed, I answered honestly and sighed rolling my eyes. "Drinking. I need the night off for drinking." She looked at me cautiously.

"Okay....but then you need to drop off Sofia at school tomorrow. It's her first day, so don't forget." She said stiffly.

"I won't forget Callie. She's my daughter too. I just need to take some time off to think." I said. She looked at me with sarcastic disappointment. "And drinking" I added truthfully.

"Okay, well just don't go to any of the bars around here. I know it's a nicer area, but most of them are flooded with drunks. If I was you I'd find one in a smaller town. Alright?" She asked. She still cares.

"Alright" I whispered with a small but honest smile while looking her in the eyes.

I got in the car, knowing that I was going to the trashiest bar I could find. I pulled aside when I found the one. It looked dangerous, but the drinks would be cheap, and they wouldn't stop me.

I walked in and sat down.

"Pick your poison" the bartender said to me routinely.

"Tequila" I said looking down in an admittedly, pretty mean tone.

"You got it blondie, how many" he asked.

"Ten" I responded.

"Not messing around" he muttered to himself.

He served me. The burn that went down my throat as I took the first shot that I usually find unpleasant felt deserved this time. I continued drinking.
