Chapter 31- Dream Come True

20 minutes later....

Continuation of Arizona's POV

*knock knock*

Sofia had just gotten here. Callie and I reluctantly peeled our eyes away from our adorable newborn and looked at each other while Callie shifted Thea more to me and started to get up with a little sigh. I put my hand on her thigh and said "stop" softly. She looked a little shocked but sat back down while staring at me, waiting for an explanation.

I sighed. "Callie, since Sofia and I got here, I haven't really been a mother to her. You have. I love Sofia, so much, and she's been so excited about this, I want to be able to give her this. I want to see her face when she looks at my belly and realizes. I want to feel the hug of excitement and be the one to quiet her down so that she doesn't wake the baby. I get it if you don't want me to because of what I did yesterday," she paused and looked at me with said eyes, "but can I?" She looked at me softly and put Thea in the baby carrier and then reached for my leg. I was a little confused when she first put down Thea, but now it makes sense. She's excited that I want to do this.

She helped me put on my leg and then asked "does that feel okay?" I nodded and smiled with a bigger smile than I have in a while; it was almost super magic. I looked back at Callie who was sitting down with Thea in her arms while I walked to the door. I opened the door and Sofia loudly said "Hi mama! Hi bab-" She stocked in her tracks as she spoke and went to hug me. I think the combination of my deflated belly and my trying to shush her made her realize. Her mouth was opened in shock and happened and her eyes sparkled. "You had the baby??" She asked excitedly, but whispering.

I nodded with a smile and quietly said "yeah." She opened arms and hugged my upper waist tightly. I picked her up, which was especially difficult and hugged her tightly before putting her back down. "Do you want to meet her?" I asked. She nodded violently and I smiled at Callies co worker as a thank you before closing the door.

Sofia looked up to me. "Mama, I love you" she said. It melts my heart when she says that. I knelt down to her and said "I love you too" while talking her hand.

We walked to the couch and she saw Callie. "Mommy!" Sofia said happily. Callie looked over at her and remained her content expression.

Briefly after that, Sofia shook my hand away and ran to Callie and her brand new sister. I followed behind and caught up within seconds. When she reached her, she looked up at Callie and I in awe with her jaw dropped. Her dropped jaw curled up into a smile. "Can I touch her?" She asked. Callie looked at me for direction, so I sat on the couch next to Callie, leaving room between us and took Thea. Sofia looked a little disappointed that it was taking me so long to respond until I patted on the space between Callie and I, welcoming her to sit down. She took the opportunity and then kissed us both on the cheek before changing her focus to Thea.

Slowly, I put Thea on Sofia's lap, still supporting her head and making sure that Callie was helping. "This is your baby's sister, Thea." I said quietly with a smile. Callie and I looked at each other with love and compassion in our eyes.

Callies pov

Arizona had just placed Thea in Sofia's lap, and we looked up at each other. This baby cured her. She was okay now, she looked at me with love, compassion, and a true super magic smile. Sofia softly held her baby sister and cooed to her, leaning down to speak to the newborn. I took the advantage to lean over her to Arizona, and kiss her on the cheek, which caught her attention. As I pulled away, she came closer to me and kissed my lips. We smiled at each other, knowing that enough was enough especially with our children around. I have to say, I never believed in all of that "the present is life's present to you" stuff, but now I do. I'm living in a dream, that I never expected to come true.

Eventually, Sofia was content with her first interaction, so Arizona took Thea back and sneakily let her eat, as she noticed that Thea had gotten fussy. I don't think Sofia even noticed with Arizonas methods. We all huddled together on the couch and turned on the TV. I couldn't ask for more in life.
