Chapter 55- Old Dreams Can Be New Regrets

Arizonas pov:
I could feel the adrenaline running through my body as I made a C shaped cut on a womans stomach with a scalpel. I felt relieved to be getting back into surgery with an emergency C section, which I can preform in my sleep, rather than an intricate surgery to save a child's life while still in utero.

Just as I was finishing the cut, I heard the door to the OR open, and briefly looked up to see Callie.

"Need any help in here?" She asked. Although she knows nothing about fetal surgery, I could tell she was trying to be supportive for my first surgery back.

"You know what, Dr. Torres? Why not" I said. Regardless, of my decision she scrubbed before she asked me so the only answer I could give without being rude is yes. I sure don't mind though.

She stepped in and I decided she could hold the clamp. As I work, she keeps looking at me like a horny teenager. After minutes of her trying to have eye sex with me while over a mothers uterus with a baby inside, I decided to intervene.

"Callie, you know what your doing, stop" I said as loudly as I could without yelling. She looked at me with an alarmed look, and then put away her sex eyes. I continued the surgery and executed the moves flawlessly.

70 minutes later....

Callie and I are waiting in awkward silence for Jane, my scrub nurse, to leave the scrub area so we can talk freely. As she scrubbed, Callie and I tried not to look at her with annoyance, but we couldn't. When she noticed, she just left the room instead of finishing her routine, and Callie and I watched the door, waiting for it to close completely.

Just as we heard the final click, I was spun around and pulled into Callie's arms. As she planted kisses on my lips I couldn't help but feel warm and happy inside. I proceeded to wrap my arms around Callie's waist in return, and I decided to swat her butt. She pulled away because of my actions and said "those are some nice moves you've got, Dr. Robbins!" in between kisses. I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, Dr. Torres, I didn't think that a doctor could ever make holding a clamp look so sexy." I said, also between kisses. We continue for some minutes, before it felt natural to pull back.

"I love you" Callie told me. I smiled, and kissed her one final time before saying "I love you too" and leaving the room to go find the day care to feed Thea.

A couple hours later....

As I sit in my office admiring Thea, who is sleeping on my bare chest, I wonder what I would be doing right now if I decided not to move the New York. The thought scares me, but also comforts me. My life has been so perfectly hectic since I got here. Just then, Nicole cracked my door open and whispered "Can I come in? One of the nurses told me Thea is nursing."

"It's fine, she's done now. Just sleeping on me. What's up?" I ask nervously. I've been waiting for this moment all day. I can't believe she's actually willing to move back to Seattle for me after she moved to New York for me and then I delayed the opening of the clinic for a year.

"Well, Robbins, I've barely talked to you for a year, so tell me, what's up?" She asks. I sigh, thinking of my newest developments.

"Well, Callie and I are getting remarried, Thea is a dream and Sofia loves her beyond loves her, and I'm back at work. That's really it" I reply.

She looked at me with a disappointed look. "No sex?" She asks, still the same dirty mind.

"Ugh! Herman, get out!" I say as my immediate reaction with a laugh. She remains seated, knowing I didn't actually mean it and laughs with me. I'm shocked Thea isn't waking from our laughter.

Our laughter dies down and her expression changes to serious. "Robbins, you and Callie deserve to be able to live wherever you both want and be happy. I just know that now, that's Seattle, so I think that we should move back, soon, and have our clinic at Grey Sloan." She says. I am stunned, I knew this would be an idea but now that it's happening and she is actually serious about it, I feel like I'm floating on clouds.

"Uh- wow. Thank you, so much Nicole, but are you sure you really want to do this, I mean-" she interrupts me mid sentence, per usual.

"You mean you think the blind lady might have a hard time? Nonsense, I don't have family Robbins, I have you. If you'll be happy in Seattle, then I'll be happy in Seattle" she stated very matter of factly. I looked at her with a blank look, I don't know what to say, and then I looked back down at Thea and kissed her head.

As I look up, I see her walking towards the door. Just as she's about to shut it, she turns around and says "I'll give you some time to process that since clearly you haven't" with a hand motioning at my face, and then starts to leave.

"Wait, Nicole, how do you know what my face looks like?" She turns around.

"Because I know you" she says with a smile. We smile at each other, even if she can't see me, and then she leaves.

As I hear her heels begin to clomp down the hallway, I hear her yell "just like I know you were smiling at me before I left your office." I chuckle and then stand up and put my scrubs back on to bring Thea back to daycare. It's good to know I have Nicole, she will always have my back.
