A week later......
Callies POV
I haven't left the hospital once. I convinced the head of peds, who is an old friend of Arizona's to admit Thea so that she could stay here, and Sofia is still with Michelle and Hannah. Arizona still hasn't woken up. Still.
I know that it could easily take much longer than a week, but I'm still worried. She still remained lifeless on the bed when I fell asleep with my hand bound to hers.
5 hours later.....
I woke up because I felt the surface that my head was laying on moving; Arizona's leg.
"Arizona" I said in shock and an optimistic tone. She was still stretching, and waking up. It looked like she was coming to. "Arizona?" I asked again, but much louder; loud enough for her to hear. She opened her eyes and looked around quickly. Her eyes dancing from me to objects in the room. She opened her mouth to talk and then started coughing on the intubation, and then having a panic attack.
"Okay, okay, let me get this stay still, okay you need to stay still" I told her, jumping into action to help my love.
She tried to lay still but her mental urges were forcing her otherwise. She was out of control over her body, so I held her still and carefully took out the intubation.
"Cal- callie, where am I?" She breathed, catching her breath.
Before I could respond, she asked "where am I?" Again. And again, and again. She kept asking it repeatedly without giving me a chance to answer until her voice start to sound weepy and I pulled her into a hug which she really resisted until her weepy voice turned into sobs. I held her tightly while she sobbed on my shoulder, confused.
I remained silent, shocked of her reaction to waking up.
15 minutes later...
Her sobs had slowed so I pushed her off of my shoulder gently and sighed while keeping my hands on her shoulders.
"Arizona, you're in the hospital. You've been out for a week. You almost died of postpartum sepsis."
Her jaw slowly dropped as I spoke to her and her head lifted as she started breathing in a ragged rhythm.
"But you're okay now, you're going to be okay." I intervened. She nodded a little but continued her ragged breathing with her head raised.
"You're okay, you're okay." I repeated in a soothing voice. While pulling her into about her hug and rubbing her back. Minutes later, she started to calm down, and I held her hand while I called for a nurse.
"Can you please page Dr. Gilli and ask him to bring Thea Robbins to room 3726?" I asked.
Arizona looked at me in panic. "Why is Thea here? Is there something I didn't notice?" She paused. Before I had a chance to speaker she continued, "I missed something, I'm a horrible mom, I should've asked you to stay, I don't know what I'm doing, I mean-" she ranted.
I interrupted her, "Arizona, you did nothing wrong. Nothing is wrong with her. I got Dr. Gilli to admit her so she could be with us, and he only agreed because you're a friend." I told her.
"Oh, so she's fine?" She asked, a little embarrassed but also hugely relieved. I nodded. She looked straight forward, awkwardly and let out a relieved sigh.
I put my hand on her arm, "hey, we're okay" I said softly. She smiled at me sadly with soft eyes.
"We're okay" she repeated, she smiled getting a little wider.
"I love you" I said passionately. I truly meant it.
"I love you too Calliope" she responded softly and meaningfully. I smiled back at her and gave her a quick kiss before Dr. Gilli rolled Thea into the room to see her Mama.
