Hoseok did not miss the fact that Rege was watching the door when he arrived nor that the questions he asked sometimes strayed from the professional to the personal.

He did not mind.  He navigated the questions to suit his interests and keep the company in the best light.  It was easy knowing the project was a lock and Dae was giving Izzy a much needed break.

He was correct in that line of thought.  Dae led the younger woman into her office suite, asking for drinks and a tray to be brought over from the team luncheon.

She invited Izzy to sit and excused herself once she saw her guest was comfortable, offering her the use of her en suite bathroom.  She made a quick call to Jin, checking with him and giving Izzy some moments to collect herself.

As she came back into her office, she found Izzy staring out the large windows, lost in the city skyline.

She stood beside her and waited for her to speak.

“It is really beautiful,” she said. “It makes me  think of my office view in New York.”

“Do you miss it?” Dae asked, watching the younger woman's face.

She scrunched up her nose and shook her head. “Not really.  I have been there several years, but it is not “home" to me.”

Dae nodded that she understood.  Izzy paused a moment and realized how long it had been since she had someone to really confide in.

She thought about the way Hoseok worked with this woman, how expertly Dae did her job and how quickly she picked up on her distress.  She found herself relaxing for the first time in much too long.

“My hometown is very small town in New Hampshire. It is lovely and quiet.  I visit my family, but after traveling and living on both coasts I don’t really miss it,” Izabelle began to explain.

“If you ask the place that I miss, that I am homesick for, that would be Boston.  We were in college there.  Those were some of the happiest times of my life,” she continued, clearly transported far from the skyscrapers gleaming in the setting sun.

“Hobi…..” she said, turning to face Dae, abruptly realizing what she had said.

Dae watched Izzy's face as she turned.  She was even more beautiful in the fading sun.  She had the feeling that the business woman had been stripped away and she was seeing her true authentic self.  Dae's breath caught in her throat as she saw Izzy's face, dancing with delight in some treasured memory, Hoseok's nickname slipping from her lips.
