....

Months later...

Everything was resolved. Fiona was able to go back to her classes after a few weeks of treatment. Her broken leg had already healed. Unexpected things happened within a month.

She still felt upset about what happened during her competition. Her parents couldn't come to her painting competition because there was also an event for Clara, which Irene and Greggy attended.

••• Flashback •••

Fiona was on her way to the auditorium to set up her canvas and painting materials. The competition was about to start in ten minutes, and she was worried about her parents, especially Irene. She saw her Aunt Imee sitting in the middle seat, with Callista and Liza beside her. She waved at them and they smiled.

After a while, Bongbong arrived with Sandro. Zia couldn't come because she had something to take care of regarding her preliminary examination. Aimee and Imelda also arrived. Her family waved at her and she waved back. The competition was about to start in a minute, but her parents still hadn't arrived.

"Wala ba silang plano na dumating? Nangako sila na pupunta sila." Fiona said to herself.

Even though Imee was far away, she noticed the worried expression on her niece's face. She knew that Fiona was searching for her mom and dad.

"The competition is about to begin. All contestants and guests, please enter the auditorium and take your seats. Thank you," the stage coordinator announced.

This competition was nerve-wracking for Fiona because she would be competing against different schools. These schools were renowned for their excellence in the field of art.

"Good morning, everyone. On behalf of Martin Luther King University, we warmly welcome you to our campus, where this year's competition is being held. We kindly request that all contestants compete in a fair and sportsmanlike manner. Give your best and showcase your artwork with confidence," she said, smiling.

"Without further ado, I would like to request permission to begin the program. Just to let you know, there are several schools participating in this year's competition."

The schools are:

Maple Hills Academy
Westwood School of Fine Arts
Einstein Academy
La Milagrosa Academia
Northride School of Fine Arts" She continue.

As a representative of her school, Fiona felt nervous when she saw her opponents. They even gave her dirty looks. But since she was a fighter, she glared back at them, sending shivers down their spines with her smirk.

"Huwag niyo akong susubukan," Fiona whispered. They were then asked to stand in front for introductions before the competition began.

Fiona kept scanning the room, hoping that her parents had arrived, but they were nowhere to be seen. She sighed and accepted the fact that they wouldn't be able to make it. She felt disappointed and bitter.

"Now, let's welcome the representative of Martin Luther King University, Ms. Fionabella Celestine Marcos Araneta."

After the introduction, they returned to their easels. On the projector screen in the center, a timer was displayed. They had four hours to complete their artwork. Once they were ready, the timer was set into motion.

...

After 4 hours, they completed their artwork. Fionabella was the first to raise her paintbrush, and the crowd at Martin Luther King University erupted in cheers. The rest of her family clapped their hands and cheered.
