....
The news quickly spread throughout the Malacañang palace.
Rody was so shocked that he couldn't find the words to say. His attention was immediately captured by Imee, who entered his office gasping for breath.
Imee exclaimed, "Si nangnang.... Rody, si nangnang!"
Imee burst into tears, leaning on Rody's shoulder. The news she heard from her secretary hadn't fully sunk in for Rodrigo.
Rody comfortingly rubbed his wife's back and said, "I'm still waiting for more information about the passengers on that plane."
She was hopeless and helpless.
"Si nangnang, Rody. Hindi hihinto ang utak ko kakaisip hangga't hindi ko nalalaman ang totoong nangyari kay Fiona.." Imee sobbed.
Rody instructed his secretary to gather more details about the suspected plane crash.
....
On the other hand, Irene was crying and screaming to Greggy, feeling confused and unsure of what to do.
Irene cried and wrapped her arms around Greggy's neck, "Delta airlines'yong sinakyan ni Fiona, Greggy. Hindi maaari...Please..."
Rescuers, investigators, and the media quickly gathered at the airport. The security personnel of Greggy surrounded them to prevent the media from approaching.
Irene sobbed, "Greggy, ang anak natin! Tell me this is just a dream... Please, Greg..."
Greggy held her even tighter and whispered, "No... She's alive, Irene. Makikita natin siya mamaya..."
Irene expressed her frustration with the situation. "What if she didn't make it? Greg....diko kaya."
"Please, stop thinking about such things. Buhay si Fiona, Irene. Hindi pwedeng mawala ang anak natin," Greggy exclaimed. Irene sobbed.
The security noticed the media approaching and quickly blocked their path.
"Mrs. Araneta, is it true that your daughter was among the passengers involved in the plane crash?" one of the reporters asked, trying to get closer but being gently pushed away by security.
Rody had sent a large number of (PSG), and they arrived just in time. The PSG immediately intervened and pulled the media away.
Irene was sobbing uncontrollably and couldn't seem to stop. Greggy held her face in his hands.
"Hon... Stop crying, buhay ang anak natin.... Hindi siya pwedeng mawala, right? Babawi pa tayo sa kaniya." He kissed her forehead.
"Greg, I'm not sure what to do anymore.... Nanghihina na ako ng sobra," Irene said, hugging him tighter.
"Kung totoo ngang kasama siya, Greg, baka ikamatay ko, Greg. Hindi pwede..hindi pwedeng mawala si Fiona. Hindi! Hindi!" Irene was weeping. As she tried to get up, she lost her balance, but Greggy was there to catch her.
Greggy supported her as they made their way to the waiting area. He gently seated her down. The sound of other people crying could be heard in the vicinity.
"Greggy, yung anak natin...mababaliw na ako kakaisip kung kasama ba siya o hindi. Hangga't hindi ko nakikita ang anak ko, hindi ako mapapanatag," Irene cried.
Greggy kept comforting her, gently rubbing her back, when a new announcement echoed throughout the airport.
"In the latest report from Malacañang, it has been confirmed that there were no survivors from the plane crash. Our hearts go out to the passengers who tragically lost their lives in this incident," the announcement stated, as the staff at Laoag International Airport expressed their deepest condolences.
