Yawning, Kiki stretches in bed. Turning her head to look at her clock, she groans. Realizing she only got two hours of sleep.

Might as well get out of bed.

It was currently seven in the morning, and both Lucas and Megan were asleep. While leisurely getting out of bed, she thinks of what to do for the day. Finishing her morning routine, she grabs her laptop off the side table and settles into her desk chair.

I can finally start contacting Offonoff. I decided to collaborate with the duo for a few reasons. They're a small duo, known in the smaller communities of K-hip-hop and K-R&B. I love their sound and music style, and I believe it would be fun to see what we could come up with. Not only that, but one of the musicians, 0Channel, is a producer, so it will be easier to work with them. I personally think they're underrated. Now for the bigger issue. What to put into the email.

<To: HIGHGRND

From: Producer's Corner

Subject: Song Collaboration

Dear HIGHGRND,

The team at Producer's Corner would like to produce and collaborate on a song with the duo Offonoff. One of the concepts of this YouTube channel is to bring out a new sound or genre from the musicians. We want fans to see something new or rare from their favorite artists. We would like to hold a meeting to discuss further things, i.e., contracts and NDAs.

Both 0Channel and Colde would have complete control over the ideas for writing and producing. Producer's Corner is more for support and new ideas. There are a few drawbacks to this collaboration. One of them is that the song we produce will not be allowed to appear on future albums. Another concept the channel has is that once a week we release a song remix, and fans don't know what it's going to be until it's released. It keeps fans coming back for more. As a result, our collaboration with an artist would surprise fans. Not to mention, this is also our first time getting in contact with another musician.

We have experience writing and producing songs; if you are not happy with the remixes provided on the YouTube channel, we will gladly bring in original songs.

Please contact us at xxx-xxx-xx29.>

Deeply sighing, she was already exhausted from writing her first formal email. She closes her laptop, looking at her clock; it reads eight a.m. Getting up from her desk, she decided to cook breakfast for the other two.

Spending the next ten minutes opening and closing almost every cupboard in the apartment. "What happened to all the food? All we have is snacks. We can't have that for breakfast." Kiki mumbles, voicing her annoyance.

Standing up from her crouching position, she looks around the apartment, trying to determine what to do now. "We could go out to eat; neither of them would mind that choice. Though they would mind the idea of shopping. I'm not hungry though, so we'll just go shopping."

Knocking on Megan's bedroom door first, she asks, "Meg, are you awake? We need to go shopping for groceries."

Opening her door, Meg sticks her head out of the door. "Of course I'm awake. Overall, why are you awake? You're never out of your room before ten." Narrowing her eyes, they accuse Kiki, "Did you get any sleep last night?"

In all honesty, Meg was actually really surprised to see Kiki out of her room. Yes, she was aware that Kiki was awake before ten o'clock, but she usually remained in her room. Though she is confused as to why Kiki was voluntarily going grocery shopping.

Scrunching her eyebrows, Kiki huffs out a response and a halfhearted smile. "For your information, I did sleep. For like two hours."

Tilting her head in confusion, she said, "Okay. Well if you did sleep, why are you out of your room so early?"

"I'll explain on the way to the store." Kiki says, rolling her eyes.

Climbing into their car, Lucas grumpily asks, "Why are we going to the store so early? We could have done this later in the afternoon."

"Nope. Meg wants to know why I was up so early, and I said I would explain on the way to the store."

"That doesn't answer anything." He says this while rolling his eyes.

Butting in before Kiki could actually respond, Meg pushes her into explaining. "We're on our way to the store. Now can you explain?"

Smiling at their impatience, Kiki begins her explanation. "Has Lucas mentioned to you that he suggested I work with and meet an underrated musician?" She inquires, looking over at Meg. Meg simply nods her head. "Well, that's what I was doing."

"OH MY GOODNESS! REALLY?" Lucas asks, basically shaking the car. "You actually went through with my idea?"

Both Megan and Kiki startle at the sudden yelling.

Throwing a piece of trash she found on the car floor at Lucas, Kiki scolds him. "There's no need to yell! We are in a small space! There was no point in yelling; we're right here."

Sheepishly smiling, he continues with his excited rant. "But did you really go through with my idea?"

Sighing deeply, she answers his question. "Yes, I did. I looked up underrated musicians and picked a small group of names that stood out to me. Then I looked into songs and the experiences that each musician had. I narrowed it down to the one that interested me the most and contacted them. I e-mailed them this morning."

Both Lucas's and Megan's heads snap towards Kiki. The car swerving.

"Yah! Watch the road!" Kiki yells.

Meg's head snaps back to the road. "Right, sorry. You surprised me. You already contacted a company?"

Excitedly clapping his hands, Lucas asks, "Have they contacted you back?"

"No, I literally emailed them like an hour and a half ago," Kiki states, mentally rolling her eyes. As if it were obvious.

She watches in the rearview mirror as Lucas visibly deflates in disappointment.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you guys as soon as I get a reply from them, but for now we need food."

Walking into the store, Megan sets a few rules. "We need actual food, stuff to make meals. And not just snacks, candy, or instant anything." Pulling a pouting Lucas by the arm.

As they make their way to the back of the store, Kiki's phone starts ringing. Who's calling? Eyebrows furrowing in confusion, she grabs her phone out of her front pocket.

Taking notice of Kiki's confused face, Meg wonders who is calling. "Who's calling you?"

"Uh. I actually don't recognize the number. Should I answer?"

"WAIT! What if it's the company you contacted? You did give them your number, right?" Lucas asks, visibly excited.

Meg took a moment to process what he just said, and as soon as they did, they excitedly hurried Kiki to answer. "Hurry up! Before it stops ringing."

"Hello?" Kiki tentatively slides her finger across her phone screen, her heartbeat gradually picking up pace.

"Hello, is this Producer's Corner?" a feminine voice asks.

"Yes, this is the contacting team. I'm assuming this is HIGHGRND?" Kiki asks, taking notice of the questioning looks from both her friends.

"Yes, it is. We have great news: we contacted Offonoff, and both members would be happy to collaborate with Producer's Corner. All you need to do is contact us again when you're ready to schedule a meeting. Producer's Corner will need to meet both Offonoff and their manager. It's up to you if you want separate meetings or one joint meeting. Just contact us at xxx-xxx-xx85."

"That's great; we'll gladly contact you as soon as possible. Thank you for this opportunity and for calling us. Bye."

Happy with how things have been turning out, Kiki nods her head, satisfied. "Is this all we should get? Or should we get more food just in case?" She asks, purposely ignoring her friends' gazes.

Both of their faces dropped at the avoidance from Kiki. "Really? Are you not going to tell us what happened? Who was it? Was it the company? Who are we contacting? Don't just leave us in the dark!" Lucas rants on.

"Also, since when did we have a contact team? Maybe a social media team, but contacting?" Megan deadpans.

Chuckling, Kiki gives in and starts explaining. "Well, first, I'm officially collaborating with another musician. It was HIGHGRND, a sublabel under YG Entertainment. And finally, we have a contact team as of right now. They don't need to know I'm the producer right off the bat."

As the explanation continues, both sets of eyes widen. "WHAT!?" Both friends yelled, earning glares from passing shoppers.

"I can't believe it; my best friend is going to be meeting new people," Lucas says, excitedly rocking back and forth.

Kiki rolls her eyes as she walks away from her excited friend.

Hiding how worried she is about everything.

I hope this goes well.
