Kiki isn't sure what she thinks about asking for another opinion. Of course, she knows better than to think that she's that great and doesn't need an outside opinion.
But this collaboration, and all the other ones she's ever done, have been solely with the person she was doing the collab with. She doesn't actually know if this goes against any contracts or if it would go against her set rules.
The only thing she does know is that she trusts Chan enough to know that he knows what he's doing. And if he trusts the other producers in this household so be it. Although she may have to remind him that they can't spoil too much.
___________
They were currently trying to locate one of the said producers. Preferably only one of them, but like from what Kiki knows they're pretty nosy when it comes to this type of thing.
"Hey, Chan?" Kiki says, breaking the calm silence.
He squeezes her hand and hums in acknowledgment.
"Make sure you don't give away too much. The collab still needs to be kept under wrap. At least partially." She was hesitant to tell him this. He trusts the guys a lot and she doesn't want him questioning her trust in himself.
Chan nods his head, easily agreeing. "Of course. They're still fans themselves so I want it to be a surprise. I just want to see if they could help suggest things."
He stops in front of, what she assumes, is a bedroom door. "Hopefully Jisung is in here. From what I'm aware he's supposed to be home."
"We won't be bothering him right?" Kiki asks, tightening her grip on his hand a little.
"No, we bother each other all the time. And if we are getting on his nerves and he truly does not want to deal with it, he'll tell us." He says reassuringly.
She was partially calmed by that. The only reason she isn't fully convinced is that she hasn't hung out with the guys often enough. She doesn't have a grasp on how they act around each other or even herself.
Chan gently knocks on his door with his free hand. "Jisung? Can we come in?" There wasn't any noise right away, but they were quickly met with the sounds of footsteps before the door opened.
"Chan? Kiki!" Jisung visibly brightened at the presence of Kiki.
"Wow, are you more excited to see her more than me?" Chan says feigning hurt.
"Duh! I see you basically 24/7. At least with Kiki, I can talk to her about everything you already know." He says, before moving out of the way, obviously showing that he's inviting them in.
She quietly laughs, "I'm honored."
Jisung closed the door after they both entered. "All jokes aside, for now, what's up? Did you guys need something?"
Chan guides Kiki to Jisung's desk. "We need help."
He plops down onto his bead and waits for the two to settle down into his desk space. "Help with what?"
Kiki hesitantly lets go of Chan's hand and softly starts talking about the small issue they were having.
"It's for the collaboration. Despite how easy it was to come up with the beats and rhythm and things alike, we can't seem to start the lyrics."
Chan jumps in, "We already had a topic we were going to talk about, but when it came time to actually come up with lyrics we were both stumped."
Jisung lets that sink in for a moment. His eyebrows furrow. "Is that allowed? I mean, me helping with song."
Chan pauses at his question. He wasn't absolutely sure about it. He turns to look at Kiki to see if she knew.
Her hands meet each other again, anxiously tugging at her fingers. "Uhm, actually, I'm not sure myself. I'm certain that if I talk to JYP about it I could work something out. But as long as I don't let you hear the completed version it wouldn't matter."
Jisung nods his head in understanding, happy with that answer. "Great! Then let's hear it!"
___________
"I hope that I was helpful." Jisung comments.
It had been a couple of hours since Chan and Kiki had come to Jisung for help. Multiple notebooks were spread across the three. Jisung on his bed, his notebook open to a full page. As soon as he heard the foundation for the song, many ideas had made a place in his notebook pages.
Kiki was sat at the desk, two notebooks open in front of her. Jisung's small producing set up in front of that. One notebook for this song's lyrics and ideas. The other of for scrapped ideas or things she thinks she could go back to for later.
Chan sat in an extra chair they had brought in. A notebook sat in his lap, closed. He was at one point taking notes, but once they started to slow down he closed it. In favor to watch Kiki and Jisung interact.
"You were a lot of help! Even though we didn't tell you what the topic was, I like the direction you were going in." Kiki says, looking over her notebooks.
Jisung closes his own and sits up all the way. "Are you guys done for the day?"
Chan's eyes narrow. "I believe so. Are you trying to steal her away?"
Jisung lets a smile split from his face. "What? Nooo."
Kiki laughs, "Chan do you not want him to? I thought we both knew it was going to eventually happen. I'm honestly surprised that none of the other members tried to wedge their way in."
Chan lets his face relax. "I don't know what you're talking about." He glances at the clock that sits next to the bed. "Although it's about time I make lunch, more like dinner."
"Why'd you question me if you were going to ditch her anyway?" Jisung says teasingly.
His head whips to Jisung. "I wasn't going to ditch her!"
"Wasn't? So you are now?"
Before Chan was able to argue back, Kiki bursts out laughing. Her eyes closed and her nose scrunched at the bridge. Her hand rests in her lap, for once not pulling at each other. She looked comfortable.
A big smile makes its way onto Chan's face as he watches her. Jisung sits with a smaller smile and a knowing look as he watches the both of them.
"Sorry, sorry." Kiki breathes out, trying to catch her breath. She turns her attention to Chan, her smile becoming a little bigger at the sight of his. "I don't mind hanging out with Jisung for a bit longer."
"You sure?"
Kiki shoos him with her hand. "Go feed your children."
