Kiki awkwardly waves, "I brought food?"

-------

Chan stood there for a few seconds before composing himself. "Kiki? Uhm, come in." He was very confused and lost. He wasn't sure why she was here or why she brought food, especially so late.

Smiling awkwardly, Kiki makes her way into the room, passing Chan, who was still standing with the door open.

"I hope you don't mind me barging in."

Once again having to compose himself, he shakes his head slightly. "No, you're fine. I'm just surprised. A little thrown off."

Kiki looks around the room she just saw through the screen. The room was more spacious than she thought, and there were a couple more sitting options off to the side.

Turning around, Chan watches as Kiki chooses a spot to sit. He puts his hand up to the back of his neck, rubbing it with nerves. "Not that I don't mind you being here, especially with food, but why are you here...so late?"

Pausing in her actions, she sheepishly smiles. Placing the food down on a small table off to the side of his main desk. "Sorry-"

Before she could finish, he interrupts her, "No need to apologize! I appreciate the company, but like I said, I'm a little confused."

Wringing her hands together, Kiki tries her best to gather her thoughts. "I was actually watching your livestream," Realization starts to dawn on him, "and I decided to comment, asking if you ate. Because I figured if you're anything like me when it comes to producing, you would forget to eat, so I was a little worried."

A smile makes its way onto Chan's face, the smile getting a little wider when Kiki starts to ramble.

He was happy she cared, he was worried they weren't close, even as friends. He was worried that she only saw him as an acquaintance. Of course, that wasn't bad, but he already enjoyed her company and would feel terrible if he was the only one wanting to keep in touch after the collaboration.

"I couldn't sleep... or think my actions through. I didn't want to second-guess myself and overthink, so after you answered my question, I grabbed food from a nearby restaurant. I wasn't sure what you liked and didn't like, so I got the basics." Kiki continues, pointing towards the food.

Heading towards the food, he replies. "Thank you for worrying about me and for getting me food. Was this the only reason you came here? Or did you want to work on the song?" He continues, unpacking the food.

She watches him pull things out and open containers. She herself wasn't too sure as to why she came here. Of course, there was her worrying over Chan, but even then, it didn't feel like the full reason.

She hesitates to answer. "I'm not one hundred percent sure either."

He sits in his office chair, swiveling around to face her. "Well, for right now, we'll eat this food and go from there. Help yourself."

The corner of her lips tilts upward in a small and soft smile. One of her more sincere smiles.

___________

Kiki never thought she would be so comfortable with someone so quickly. She knew how to be friendly with someone, especially someone she had only met a handful of times. But she was wondering why she felt so...safe? Secure? Like she said, she's kind of confused.

They had spent an hour or so eating and joking around. Chan was telling and describing stories about the other members. How he loves their relationships with each other and how sometimes their personalities clash. Describes his time traveling during tour and how he still works then. Of course, mentioning his family and where he was raised.
