Génesis POV
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀I had been in my office all night and morning working on getting things done for the building now that it was officially mine. Mat kept sneaking in here to make me eat or at least use the bathroom in all honesty, self-care went out the window. I felt bad however because I know he was in his office all night, he can't sleep without me and I don't think he even attempted to sleep.
I was typing away at my computer when I heard a knock at the door and I already knew it was Matías, coming to force me to do something related to taking care of myself. When the door opened I was sitting on top of my desk, with my phone perched between my shoulder and ear, my feet resting on my office chair, and completely oblivious to who had just walked into my office.
"How long has she been like this," I heard the feminine voice say from in the doorway. Had I not been yelling at the people on the other end of this line, I would've realized who walked in sooner.
My head snapped up when the realization hit me and I dropped the phone running over to her, engulfing her in a hug.
Aurora.
Her natural scent of fresh roses in the early morning hit my nose immediately after wrapping her in a warm embrace.
"I had to pry your fingers from that desk and all she does is walk in and boom?!" I heard Mat say from behind Rora, I looked over her shoulder to see Teo smiling and Mat shaking his head walking away in disbelief.
"Don't be jealous!" I yelled after him laughing to myself, Rora and I broke my hug I quickly hugged Teo before pushing him out so we could talk. Then it dawned on me they weren't supposed to be back for another two weeks. I furrowed my brows and began to speak but Aurora picked up on my reaction and beat me to it.
She held her hands up stopping me from being able to say anything before she got a chance to explain. I grabbed her hand rushing her over to my desk sitting us in the chairs on the outward side of my desk.
She sighed rubbing her temples before speaking, "Estoy bien conejita, I had the worst feeling as if we were being followed. Teo thought I was just being dramatic until there was a black rose on in front of the door for the suite we were staying at. However, that was the best week of my life and even though I was bumped it ended early I was really missing my best friend."
I smiled through my anxiety the best way I could, I was extremely anxious because I knew with things being this quiet whatever going on behind the scenes was far from good. I was even more bummed out that her fantastic honeymoon was ruined and I know how much she was looking forward to it.
"Besides," she continued, "he promised me a redo once all of this was over so I can live with that. However, I want to hear about your lover's escapade with Mat, all juicy details please." She patted her legs in a dramatic drumroll and I gave a nervous and half-filled chuckled. In reality, Mat and I had only made up just yesterday and our week was anything but a lover's escapade.
"It was uneventful," I said plainly trying to leave the situation alone, thinking about it still hurt my feelings even if he did explain why he did it. I got out of my seat moving behind my desk to straighten it, even though I planned on messing it backup the minute we were done catching up.
"Oh, I am going to murder him. What did he do, it was obviously something bad you're trying to straighten the damn desk to avoid me." Damn her for knowing my anxiety tactics so well, sometimes I hate how she was so fucking observant.
"It wasn't that bad, he simply just didn't talk to me," I said quickly trying to throw it out there and also hoping she missed it which I knew she didn't. She stood to storm out of the door and I quickly moved in her way.
