Matías POV
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀There she was, even after almost four years. She was still as beautiful as ever as if no time had passed by. I watched her leave the building carrying a little girl. I moved further out of my hiding spot from behind the corner of the building to get a closer look. It seemed to be that little girl Sofía, Mateo told me Génesis had taken a liking to the girl.
I suspected something must've happened if she was taking the girl home with her. I wish I could be there to help her through whatever it was. Sadly enough, today did not differ from any other I had to watch from the shadows.
I was so lost in my thoughts and trapped in her beauty that I hadn't realized I was out further than I intended. I saw her reach her hands up to wipe her eyes, and I snuck back behind the building. Luckily, the street wasn't busy or somebody would've called the police or told her she was being watched.
As much as I wanted nothing more than to be with her again, I couldn't until I had all the information. Ian was still out there somewhere and the last thing I wanted was to put her life at any more of a risk. When I heard the truck approaching I moved behind a pillar so I was completely out of sight.
Heavily sighing I walked off heading to the back alley where I parked my car, on the way I heard someone talking. I started to ignore it, but upon hearing Gén's name I froze.
I peeked around the corner and saw the same ass who was in her office earlier, I could tell by his body language through the window he was trying to flirt with him. She gave no advances back but occasionally smiled out of kindness.
"Yeah, the perra finally gave me a number. When I just tried to call it, it said it wasn't in service. Look I don't want to keep doing this forever, how long before we can take her out. Ella sigue siendo vulnerable obviamente." He sighed pinching the bridge of his nose, "yeah okay, I'll get it don't worry."
He cursed under his breath and continued down the alley, I waited a few moments to make sure he was gone before making my way to my car. Quickly unlocking it and entering the driver's side I slammed my door shut.
I grabbed my phone while simultaneously starting my car and pulling off, I dialed Mateo's number. I wasn't sure if he'd answer we had a specific rule of him only calling me after everything that happened. We made sure to be careful, but my wife's life was at risk. I wasn't just going to lurk in the shadows.
If they wanted her they'd have to go through me again.
"You know Cabrera, I expected more out of a man with your expertise and skill set. You're feared by everyone, men, women, and even children. You're the boogeyman. But here you are dangling from the ceiling about to die and you're not even going to put up the slightest fight?"
I remained quiet, I knew what he was doing, but trying to bait me wouldn't work. I wasn't going to tell him anything especially anything about Génesis. I rather fucking die.
My wrist was chained together from the ceiling, but the fucking idiots didn't bother to chain my feet. And here he was talking as if he had one when I already planned my way out. While I was busy calculating Ian motioned for his men to leave the room and grabbed a phone from the table.
In the corner of the room, I saw a television, and in walked my family. My wife, I didn't know what Ian had planned but I had this agonizing feeling in y stomach.
I was too weak from the beatings and stabbings I had endured over the weeks, but seeing her gave me all the strength I needed to finally get out of here. I was going home.
