Génesis POV
❀⊱┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄⊰❀

"Ew, are you guys going to kiss?" Sofía asked from her position in the doorframe of the bathroom door with her head tilted to the side. She was completely adorable, but I was too busy processing I couldn't gush over her right now.

I was focused on Matías, that when Mateo cleared his throat in uncomfortableness it had finally fucking hit me.

He fucking knew.

I looked stepped past Matías to get to Mateo who had the worst look of fear written across his face when he realized I was pissed.

"You knew?! You knew and you made me feel like the fucking bad guy for almost three years Mateo?!" I didn't want to snap in front of Sof, the last thing I wanted to do was scare her or remind her of her father.

But this took the fucking cake.

I spent three and a half years feeling guilty over the fact my husband was dead and having his best friend blame me for it made that guilt sink even further. The half-ass apology I got that night never stuck because I knew he didn't mean it. Here I was sulking a groveling when it should've been him.

"Hey, que diablos esta pasando aqui," Aurora rushed into the room after hearing me yell and the tone. She immediately stopped in the doorway when her eyes met Mat's. "Holy shi-," she slapped her hand over her mouth seeing Sof shift from the corner of her eye.

"Answer me, Mateo. Did. You. Know?" He couldn't even look me in my eyes, he was looking everywhere else as if he was looking for a way out.

Just like that night, my heart shattered all over again. I mourned, grieved, and went through the worst possible depression. Just for all of it to have been a lie.

I humorlessly laughed and rubbed my temples, this was truly the most unforgivable thing that had happened yet. I opened my mouth to speak again, but before I could I felt something latch onto my leg. When I looked down it was Sofía already looking up at me, as if she was pleading for me to calm down.

I don't know how she did it, but a smile crept upon my face when I looked at her. I don't know when or how she managed to become so wrapped around my heart, but she was and I don't think I'd change that if I could.

I sighed looking at Aurora who was too busy glaring a hole into the back of Mateo's head. I crouched down to Sof, knowing the conversation could potentially get more hostile and I didn't want her to witness that.

"You know who that is right?" I asked her pointing in Rora's direction.

She nodded smiling widely, "yes, that's the pretty lady you have a picture of on your desk. I told her you looked like a Barbie," her last sentence was towards Rora who broke her glare to smile at Sof. This girl had a way of stealing hearts.

"Well nobody's ever called me that before I like it, how about we go get you some ice cream, hm? Maybe we can sneak Stitch some as well." Aurora held her hand out for Sofía to take it and she looked at me for permission, I nodded my head silently letting her know it was okay and she took off.

They walked out with Rora nodding at me as she

"One of you better start talking, before I murder both of you. Thirty seconds," neither of them said anything they were just staring at each other in shock. "Talk!"

"It was to keep you safe I swear," Teo started off first, I expected he was he was more afraid of me than Mat was. "When he first contacted me I wanted to tell you, but he swore me to secrecy."
