chapter 7 an unexpected guest

(lucius pov)

he and severus had arrived at the house as lucius was going to be staying there last minite due to his father going away on buisness severus went insede and lucius went on a walk. he walked tord the back of the house as he got closer he heard the faint mellody being hummed in the distanse as he got closer he realised who it was

it was sage

he stood from afar admiring her beauty the last time he had seen her she was a child but now there was a beautiful young woman

she looked so peacful and so relaxed. he debated saying hello to her but he dicided against it and tuned to walk away but as he was doing so he stepped on a twig making it snap loudly causing her to turn around and see him standing behind her

"lucius is that you?" sage asks

he nods

she runs up to him and hugs him with a smile, he wasent expecting this but he wasent against it. she steps back and looks at him "goodness you got so tall" she laughs he chuckles and says "i can see your just as short as you where all those years ago" they both laugh as they begin to walk back to the house

"so uh what are you doing here?" she asks with a hint of confusion "my father went away on a last minute buisness trip so severus said i could stay here for a week until he returns" he says

"that sounds nice we really need to catch up i havent spoken to you in 3 years" "i agree" he says

as they walk into the house severus and may meet them at the door

"we where wondering where you to had gotten off to we where begining to worry" may and severus say the two

(sages pov)

"oh i was reading outside and lucius found me and said hello"

as the four where talking in severuses room they heard sages mother call for her she excused herself to go and see what she needed

"you called me mother" she says making sure she was polite and not slouching, her mother looked furious "what is this i hear about you being seen in a bookstore in town today" she looked at her mother genuinly confused "whats wrong with me being in a bookstore mother you never had an issuse going into the village before?" "you where alone sage its extremly unproper for a young lady to be out unchaparoned" sage looked at her mother and rolled her eyes

so as a result of sages atatude her mother slapped her accros the face causling her to fall to the ground ,as she is on the ground a tear escapes her eyes as she stands up and wipes away her tears she looks back to her mother and says "im sorry for disapointing you mother"

she walks into her room shutting the door behind her, shortly after she did so severus came in and when he say her sitting on her bed crying an ocean with her tears with a red mark in the shape of a hand on her face he realised exatly what had happend

he rushed to her side and hugged her as she cried,after about 20 minutes lucius came in looking for severus as he saw them sitting there sage still in tears his heart ached he hated seeing her so upset. he wanted to go over there to hug her but he thought it was best to leave that to severus until he saw the mark on her face

he walked over to her and severus and asked what had happend, sage looked down and said nothing so lucius being a legamist read her mind as he saw the memorie in her head he felt a sudden fit of rage overcome him a sudden dutey to protect her

severus realised what lucius had just seen and realised pretty quickly what he was going to do so he stepped outside the door with him and convinced him not to put an end to his mothers life

lucius wondered why did he feel the sudden urge to protect sage why was this happening to him
