chapter 28 where did my sunshine go

sage was running for what seemed to be hours until she eventually stopped to take a breath. she looked around to realize she had no idea where she was. for a moment she was frightened but that soon turned into numbness and she held the necklace her grandmother had given her all those years ago. tears began to stream down her face as she realized this was all she had left of her dear grandmother who she loved so much, that she felt as if her grandmother was more of a mother to her than her real mother had been. her grandmother taught her to be kind and to have compassion for others, that was what she valued unlike her mother whose main priority was to make her the perfect housewife 

after all her mother never really cared all she cared about was her reputation 

sage decided to wander around

she eventually felt she could not walk any further, she was exhausted. she decided to try and aparate home. tho she was nervous to do so she did 

after a slight pop, she opened her eyes to see she was not at Malfoy manor or her home in France . she was standing in the courtyard of her grandmother's estate 

she then realised with her grandmother gone the hose would be left to rot 

so she decided to stay and start a new life

*Lucius pov*

the ball began to die down and people began to head home, he and Severus began to wonder why sage had not returned yet so they both set off to find her. as the two glanced around the room they noticed that sages mother was over talking with a group of people

this led the boys to wonder where sage had gone to 

Severus approached his mother to ask where sage was but she simply said "Severus cant you see your mother is busy" and she shrugged him off. she then mumbled something Lucius didn't understand. when Severus returned he was more pail than usual. "is something the matter sev? is sage ok?" Lucius asked looking concerned 

Severus looked extremely worried "my mother told sage about our grandmother passing....then mother said she ran off" Severus sounded worried 

Lucius immediately ran outside looking for sage he asked a nearby gardener if he had seen her and the Gardner said he saw a girl run out the gates and down the country lanes. Lucius was sick with worry and began running down the country roads to try find her, but it was no use there was no trace of her 

he returned about an hour later where Severus was anxiously awaiting  his return when he saw that Lucius returned alone his face dropped

Severus decided to stay over to comfort Lucius. the two decided to sit in the library trying to think of where she could be.

words could not describe the worry Lucius was feeling at this moment all he wanted to know was where sage was and if she was safe. she was his ray of sunshine and she made him so happy, he was not going to lose her  

tho he was not sure about many things right now he knew for certain he would bring the girl he loved so dearly home
