chapter 12 back to school

(sages pov)

it is six-thirty in the morning and sage wakes up bright and early to make sure she's ready to go back to school. she makes her way to the bathroom to wash her face and put on a small amount of makeup. as she looks in the mirror she notices bruises all over her face, she takes various potions out of her cabinet and takes them all one by one, then her bruises and cuts slowly fade from her face.

she makes her way downstairs and into the kitchen, she decides to make herself a coffee before she leaves. as shes sipping her fresh coffee, she hears someone coming down the stairs as she looks back coffee in hand she sees Lucius his hair is down and messy as he had just woken up he looked as if he was still asleep he hadn't even wiped the sleep from his dozing eyes or changed from his t-shirt and sweat pants which was unlike him as he was always dressed to impress,  he looked so humane and down to earth he didn't look posh he just looked kind and gentle. his blue eyes looked cloudy and grey with the remnants of dreams that had overtaken them before, she truly couldn't compare anyone else's eyes to his 

he looked so peaceful and so calm. seeing him like this showed her how attracted to him she truly was and how she had let herself fall for her brother's best friend  

"good morning sage" Lucius says with his raspy morning voice "what are you doing up so early Lucius?" she asks with a smile as she sips her warm coffee "I wanted to say goodbye before you left" she smiles at him "that's very sweet of you Lucius" she stands and hugs him 

as shes hugging him she can feel the contours of his muscles beneath his t-shirt. once they had broken free from each other's tight hugs they sat down and chatted over some coffee before sage had to leave. when it was time for her to go Lucius carried down her trunk for her and as she got into the carriage and settled down Lucius returned back inside 

(Lucius pov)

as he returns to the kitchen he sees a book sitting on the counter it was face down, as he picks it up he reads whats inside 

dear diary 

I cannot believe I'm saying this but I have fallen for him it's true I have fallen for Lucius Malfoy his blond hair lights up my day more than the sun on a summers day ill admit I never expected to fall for him I thought it was some childish crush that would pass in a year or two but seeing him here today when I was on the swing made my heartburn of him it confirmed my suspicion after how I reacted to the amortentia tho I know I have feelings for him I fear he does not feel the same, I mean who am I kidding he's so out of my league. if he were to ever read this I would probably die. I do not dare to tell him how I feel as I fear my heart could not handle the pain of him not feeling the same the pain of his rejection and as a result, my words are confined to this book never to see the light of day never to meet his beautiful gaze.

as Lucius stands there in awe of what he just read he realized that he had a chance  he had a chance to tell her how he felt so he decided to take a chance he pushed down all of his nerves and ran out to the carriage book in hand 

the carriage is about to depart as he yells her name causing her to stop the carriage 

she leans her head out the carriage window "Lucius is everything ok?!" he looks at her "you forgot this" he hands her the diary, she blushes when she saw it was her diary he thought she was beautiful when she blushed "thank you Lucius" she smiles  "oh and one more thing"

then he kissed her as the carriage began to move he didn't know how she reacted to the kiss but all he knew for sure was that was the best kiss he had had in his life all he could do was hope she felt the same.
