chapter 17 is this the end

(Lucius pov)

his heart dropped as he saw sage fall from her broom. it was as if time had gone in slow motion. she hit the floor and her body lay there lifeless without a second thought, he rushed to her side and pushed his way through the teachers to be by her side and fell to his knees and held her in his arms as he and some teachers brought him to the hospital wing. but to everyone's surprise, when madam Pomfrey saw she said "I can't treat her here she needs to be brought to St Mungo's". hearing this made Lucius's heart drop, thoughts started to rush through his head like what if he lost her, what if she never recovered 

as he's sitting by her lifeless body in the hospital wing as the teachers are getting ready to move her to st mungos Severus rushes in.

"WHERE IS SHE WHERE IS MY SISTER!" he shouts sounding worried 

Lucius stands up and makes his way over to Severus trying to calm him and brings him to sages bedside

"there taking her to st mungos sev..." Severus sat there looking broken and numb "Lucius I can't go with her I can't see her like this" Lucius put his hand on sevs shoulder and says "I was planning to go with her regardless" 

shortly after a professor came in with a stretcher and placed sage on it and asked the two boys who was going with her "that would be me" Lucius said as he stood up and protectively stayed by sage. Severus wished them luck and told them to keep him updated on his sisters' condition 

about an hour later Lucius was settled in a hospital room sitting by sage not daring to leave her side for a single moment. she had been given an oxygen mask as her breathing was weak and according to the matron she was in critical condition and would need surgery to stop the bleeding in her brain 

Lucius sat there as he watched them prep her for surgery. he was so worried for her. that he couldn't lose her.

as she was wheeled away he was left alone in the room and just sat there in silence and waited. 

he heard the door open so he stood up hoping it was a nurse with some news but it was may. she was holding a bag with some things, she gave Lucius a sympathetic smile and said "I brought some of her things how is she..." she askes in a shy tone 

Lucius explained her condition and may looked pale "I'm so sorry I don't feel well I can't be here" and with that, she left in tears of worry

about six and a half hours later a nurse opens the door and looks over at Lucius 

he stands up and says in a worried tone "is she alright" the nurse smiles "the surgery went well and she's in the ICU now" 

it felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders she thanked the nurse and she showed him to the ICU 

he saw her lying there he felt his heart drop again but he just kept telling himself that she was going to be ok 

he sat there holding her hand day and night for about three days 

he had just dozed off while holding her hand. while he was asleep he was dreaming she was holding his hand and it felt so real he thought he could feel her stroking his hand with her thumb, he then woke up and saw her eyes flutter open and he realized that she was indeed stroking his hand 

he instantly called for a nurse and she came and removed the tubes from her mouth and the iv from her arm 

he looked her in the eyes and said to her "I thought I lost you..." at this point the room was empty, sage looked at Lucius and noticed he began to cry "Lucius it's alright I'm alright" she moved over on her bed so he could sit next to her. he sat next to her and she began to cuddle him, he was not expecting this but it brought him quite a lot of comfort "so you don't hate me.." he says in an ashamed tone "hate you? Lucius, I could never hate you, I know what your fathers like  and he won't change the way I feel about you.." 

and with that, they kissed and the world felt still and it was perfect it was bliss
