(William's POV)
Something happened last night.
"I won't hear of it."
"Come on, it's just a nickname!"
These two are acting differently and at first I thought it was because they are now publically a couple after the little hot spring revelation but there's something else. There's something in the way Ida is around Tom and there's something new twinkling in Tom's eyes as he looks at her.
"It's a bakery."
"It's cute!"
They seem so close now and yet it's almost like they're acting shy around each other, almost like they saw something about each other that makes them nervous, maybe...
"What is the reason for this rumpus!" Lin roars and they both stop. I should keep this thought to myself but Lin sometimes looks like the mom of the group.Yep, definitely keeping that to myself.
"I called him muffin!" Ida points at Tom accusingly.
"She gave me the name of a sugary bakery full of saturated fat and expects me to like it. Is that what I am to you? Something that you shouldn't eat?" Tom towers over Ida, challenging her yet once again in this endless war for power.
"You want me to eat you?!" She stands her ground ready to fight back.
"Wow wow, who's eating who and how can I watch?" Kala arrives. I try to avoid her eyes, her gaze tends to make me feel nervous and I don't like feeling nervous.
"Ida and Tom fucked all night and now they argue to find some kind of normality in this post-sex day," as always, you can expect Lin to tell you the blunt truth...
Ida's mouth falls open, Tom clears his throat and fixes his shirt and Kala and I exchange a glance.
Just a normal day.
(Ida's POV)
"Tonight we'll try to see the northern lights," Tom explains to all the students who gathered in the hotel's entrance. I see Mitsy, sighing, as soon as she understood that Tom was off-limits. It's like the whole world became a place of boredom and nothingness. Is running after boys her only occupation? "Now it's not sure we'll find them because it's not the season but I..." he clears his throat, "after pondering on the subject for a while I've decided that we should try anyway."
Kala leans in and whispers in my ear, "wow, are you that good? You made him change his mind?" I roll my eyes at her. I don't think I did that.
"Anyways, we're leaving after dinner tonight, until then you're free to do whatever you want as long as it's happening inside the town," Tom waves a dismissive hand and slowly the crowd of students dissipates.
"Ida, Kala, let's go explore a little bit and do some window shopping!" Ines offers with Eve standing beside her. I remember thinking that my life was lacking social experiences these days, time to go back to my high school habits!
"Sure, when?" I nod after checking with Kala.
"Right now!" Eve exclaims, "I can't wait! I'm sure this is gonna be awesome. Some 'girl only' time!" I have nothing against girls and nothing against window shopping so I say:
"I agree, exactly what I needed!" Just one afternoon away from problems and responsibilities.
Suddenly I exchange a glance with my little muffin and see him nod his head before walking away. I guess he needs the alone time too, to work or maybe read, or maybe plot the end of this world as we know it, whichever.
