Grotesque Trilogy (Book 1)

Chapter 2

As me, Leo and Peace walked down the corridor, we spoke about our weekend. Leo was telling us how when he went to California his pendent went cold, he said he never knew how cold it could go, at times I hated not being able to understand what that must feel like. As we got to our hideous green lockers the bell went for first period. Leo gave me and Peace a wave as he went off to Maths, me and Peace had Philosophy first period and I wasn't in the mood for it one bit.

Walking into the lesson the classic 'mean girls' were lined up on the middle section of seats, clearly checking out Peace who had no interest in them what so ever. Me and Peace sat in the corner seats near the back to prevent anyone talking to us, Peace was saying to me how nice I looked today and I couldn't help but blush. I don't know why but I never seemed to be able to take a complement, I just said thank you as he smiled like a Cheshire Cat.

The teachers projective voice made me look forward and right on cue the schools bad boys Ned and Keane strolled in, the teacher just scoffed and continued to explain something on the boar. Keane caught my glance and gave me a smug smile, followed by a wink, I squirmed in my seat, I hated when boys flirted with me, was he flirting with me? He couldn't have been maybe he was looking at someone else, but when I saw the glare Peace gave me I knew it must have been me, making my cheeks redden and me hide my face in my book.

The bell went for lunch and I was so happy to be out of Philosophy, Peace was talking about something in the lesson and a shadow over my desk made me look up. Straight away two piercing blue eyes were staring at me, Keane, "I was wondering if you'd like to come over to my house this weekend, I'm having a party and I'd love for you to join" he said rather cockily. I looked over at Peace almost instantly and to my surprise he asked "why would she wanna go to one of your parties?", Keane looked at me for an answer, I knew I couldn't go Leo and Peace wouldn't let me and honestly I didn't trust him. "no thank you" I spoke more quiet then I thought, Keane looked rather shocked "I'm sure you'll come anyway", he spoke and with that he walked off; Peace looked at me like he wanted to say something but didn't.

As we walked out of the classroom Leo was waiting outside "10 years later" he emphasised, me and Peace just giggled. Leo and Peace got into a deep conversation almost instantly, my thoughts kept my occupied, as we approached the canteen. Leo and Peace went to get some food, I decided I'd just get a sandwich from the vending machine, as I was deciding if to get the ham with cheese or just plain ham, someone shouting my name made me turn around. To my surprise it was Keane, " hey can I show you something real quick" he asked rather smug, unsure of how to answer I just nodded my head, as he started to lead to way I looked back to see if I could see Leo and Peace, but to my dismay they were nowhere to be seen, "hurry up" Keane shouted as he got a bit further away.

Keane came to a stop and I noticed we was down some empty corridor that was outside, "why did you want to show me this?" I asked rather confused, to my surprise Keane started to come closer to me. I backed up and ended up hitting a wall, my pulse was racing and he just smiled smugly at me, "You know Meg Whitely" he spoke rather calm, "I've always had a thing for you, and you're always looking so damn beautiful". I couldn't help but blush at this which made me look down, Keane noticed this and used his index finger to prop my chin up so I would look at him, as I slowly glanced up at him he crashed his lips on to mine. I didn't really know how I felt about this, it was a shock to me, I then felt his hand trying to creep up my top to which I then pushed him backwards getting him off me, he just laughed and said "see you Saturday" then walked back into school like nothing had happened.

I slid down the wall and tried to process what just happened.
