Chapter 18

Why was Leo with them? I just didn't make sense.

"Meg, Peace what are you guys doing here?" Leo almost shouted. "We could ask you the same question?" Peace said. "Guys, I knew you didn't have a pendent but you can't be here, they will kill you" Leo said coming closer to us. "Don't go near them Leo, they can kill you within seconds, they are grotesques remember" Aiden spat at him. I looked at Leo not sure on what to do, then all of a sudden a throwing knife came flying towards me. I froze until a force field appeared in front of me, I looked to my left and realized Keane just saved me. Weird or what?

Ofelia ran and to turn the lights off, looking directly a Peace in the process. As I looked at Keane, he got out three flying tiger claws clearly ready to aim. I knew I had to wake Olivia but when I turned to go and get her she was stood behind me with her throwing axe at the ready.

It was at this moment I knew everything would change, tears pricked my eyes as I realized I was going to have to fight my best friend. The lights went out for a few moments, but with Peace having night vision this allowed him to knock out around 20 of the men with ease. Ofelia then switched the lights back on and I ran to get my pistol crossbow. Olivia stood guard over me. She threw her axe, knocking someones gun straight out of there hand. Before she kicked them and knocking them to the ground instantly, as Olivia turned back she seen me trying to load my pistol gun but noticed someone about to shoot me. "Keane, shield Meg quick" She shouted almost instantly. Keane threw his last tiger claw before shielding the bullet from me and then snapping the mans neck and fighting on. As I turned round Leo was standing right in front of me with a gun, ready to fire at me. Tears pricked my eyes once again, is he actually going to kill me?

"I won't kill my soul mate" was all he said before going and fighting with us. Peace looked at me confused, to be honest I was a little shocked. How was I Leo's soul mate, I didn't even have a pendent.

I didn't have time to think about this now, as I went to shoot someone they came at me and kicked my gun straight out my hands. The man then went to punch me in the face, blocking this. I then closed my eyes and then reopened them and told the man to leave the cave and return home. That his business here was done. It was times like this I was grateful for having mind control as a power. The man then walked out the cave, there was only around 15 of them left.

As I looked to my right I seen Olivia duplicate her self again and start to beat up a man twice as much. Peace used his technopathy power to make all the guns fire at Aiden and his men. Leo was standing next to Peace, he was fighting with some man. Ofelia was hacking into the data system doing something. It was at that moment I realized Aiden was behind her with a gun. I used my superhuman speed to run over to her and my elasticity to wrap my self around him. He fell to the floor, quickly unwrapping myself from him, I then froze him so he wouldn't be able to harm Ofelia. She turned around and gave me a thankful smile, before continuing what she was doing. I shouted Peace over to help her, with his technopathy he will be able to help her in minutes. I grabbed a stick which was hanging on a wall and hit some man approaching me in the stomach. He put his hands on his stomach allowing me the chance to hit him around the head.

After a few minutes an alarm system went off, I looked over at Olivia who spun around and kicked some man in the face. I laughed wickedly knowing how much that would of hurt. Keane used his teleportation to fight different men at different times, confusing them. It was pretty humerus to watch actually.

The men that were left started to flee the dexterousness fragment, until Jed walked in. Everything at that moment went in slow motion, a man went to shoot Olivia. Peace seen and turned crimson in the face enraged with what the man was trying to do. Keane shielded this bullet from hitting her and the man fired another one but it hit Jed. Peace tackled the man and snapped his neck before embracing Olivia and making sure she was okay. I ran to Jed almost instantly, Ofelia seen me hovering over Jed and realized something had happened. She shouted at Keane to shield us as Olivia and Peace killed the rest of the men off. Ofelia had healing factor power which allowed her to heal Jed rapidly.

Relief filled Jed's face knowing that he would be okay. Peace and Olivia returned back over when everyone had gone.

"What now?" Peace said. At this point I saw Leo standing awkwardly a few meters away from us, I stood up and began approaching him.

"Hey" he said with a slight smile. Peace was watching us like a hawk making sure I was safe with him, but it was Leo, he couldn't hurt a fly.

"What did you mean I was your soul mate?" I asked him. He smiled at me, "I went to your house and my pendent was burning. It hurt and then when I knocked on, your mother answered and told me you didn't live with her anymore. I was confused of course, but my pendent started to float in front of me and a pendent in your mothers pocket came flying out. I was amazed I had no clue what was happening and then they became molded together and made two half's" he said. He then went into his pocket and pulled out a pendent which was half cracked. It was no longer a full heart, it was a half. "Your mother told me she took it with her everywhere, so when she was working near our high school, that was why my pendent was going so warm" he explained. I just smiled at him.

"Everyone in the gym now!" Ofelia ordered catching my attention straight away.

I think that our revolutionary was just starting to begin.
