Chapter 17

Waking up, I realized I must have fallen asleep for longer than I thought. As I looked up at Olivia's bunk I noticed she wasn't there. Leaving my room I heard quarreling downstairs. Making my way down the stairs I seen Olivia and Peace standing near the door, Olivia's hands were heating up and that's how I knew this wasn't good. As I hurried over to the door I seen Keane and a few others from my old school standing there.

"Oh look all three of the foremost's together" Keane spat. I was confused how did Keane find us? "What do you want Keane?" Olivia spat. "I want to know why the pernicious trio got put in 'foremost' and I was placed in dexterousness" he snapped. At this point I was taken back, I didn't even know Keane was like us, which honestly took me by surprise. "I don't think you should do that" Olivia said quickly. "I can read your thoughts and if you touch Meg I will burn your hands off" Olivia hissed. This made me feel uneasy, what was he thinking? I stepped more towards Peace and he intertwined his fingers with mine. "Keane here, has substance mimicry, which allows him to transform into any substance touched" Olivia explained. "He also has teleportation, thats why he's here because he transported himself here" Olivia explained again. Keane just smiled at her, "Whats my final power then?" he asked smugly. "Force field generation" Olivia hissed. " A pretty pointless power if you ask me" Olivia spat. Keane went to grab Olivia's arm until she used her heat generating powers to shoot him with a fireball. He only used his forcefield to stop it hitting him. "Still a useless power?" Keane asked smugly. Olivia just gave a disapproving look before slamming the door on him.

Peace had put his gold iPhone 6 on charge. His phone case was one thing I loved it was a quote from an Ed Sheeran song saying 'it's too cold outside for angels to fly'. Olivia decided to put her black nexus 6 on charge. Her phone case was the two bubbles from the fault in our stars that had okay written in the middle of them. I decided to put my phone on charge also.

As me, Olivia and Peace were making small conversation in the living room Peace's phone started to ring. The name Keane appeared, to which Peace just scoffed, but a few seconds after Olivia's phone started to ring. The name Ofelia appeared, fear washed my whole body something was going on. My phone then started to ring and the name Jed appeared. I answered my phone almost instantly. "Meg, you, Olivia and Peace need to get down here right now, its the 'hearty's'" Jed spoke before the line went dead. "We need to go now" I said. "Meg use your super speed to run me there now and come back for Olivia" Peace said. I looked at Olivia and she just nodded, to this I opened the front door and grabbed Peace by placing one arm behind his head and one arm gripping his arm and ran him to the cave.

Horror washed over mine and Peace's face, the cave had been exploded. Everything had been destroyed, I ran back almost instantly to get Olivia, tears were threatening to fall from my eyes. "Meg, what is it?" She asked. I didn't trust my voice so I just took her to the cave in hopes that would explain.

As me, Olivia and Peace were standing at what was once a cave door, another explosion went off making black rubble dusk fly in our face. Olivia used her X ray vision to see what was going on. "The hearty's are destroying everything, they've killed off 3 fragments already" she said. "What fragments?" Peace asked, trying to hide the upset in his voice. "Intellect, Probity and Intermediary" Olivia said. "Oh my gosh, they are going to go to dexterousness next" I said horror in my voice. "Meg, run me there now we can warn them and fight them off for as long as I can" Peace said. "Peace no, I wont loose you, not like this" Olivia almost cried. "If I don't warn them they don't stand a chance, you need to stay here and distract them with Meg" he said grabbing her hand. A single tear ran down Olivia's cheek. "Hey don't do that, I'm coming back, I'll always be coming back to you never forget that" Peace said whipping her tear away. Olivia just nodded before Peace hugged her one last time.

As I grabbed Peace Olivia used her duplication power to make five copies of her self, they all ran off into the cave in different directions. I ran Peace to the dexterousness fragment and warned them about what was happening.

Keane, Ofelia and Jed were all standing there. "Meg, Peace its such a relief to see you're both okay" Ofelia said showing the relief in her voice. "Why are they doing this?" Peace asked. "They want to destroy us, they say we are grotesque" Ofelia said.

All of a sudden a loud crash coming towards the door of the room we was in made all of us halt. Then suddenly a body came flying into the room, a doubt creeping into my mind made me ask myself is it Olivia? Peace ran over to the body almost instantly and that's when dread filled my mind. I knew it was Olivia at that moment. Around 50 men came marching into the room, we all remained silent but were standing fearless.

"Ah hello Ofelia" a man said. "Aiden? Aiden Fisher?" Ofelia asked taken back. The man was about 38, with a gingerish brown beard and brownish black hair. He was wearing black trousers with a black jumper and black trench coat. He also had piercing blue eyes, he looked quiet ominous looking.

"The one and only" he said with a bent laugh. "Why are you doing this? I thought you wanted to help us" Ofelia asked rather confused. "You see Ofelia", Aiden spoke, " I think you're a threat to Providence, so you and your grotesque's must be destroyed". He said with a villainous smile.

I didn't like how this was going to turn out and with Olivia out cold I knew I was going to have to protect her until she wakes up.

As I was scanning the men apprehension filled my mind when a pair of familiar brown eyes met mine.

Not him to, please God, don't make me have to kill him as well.
