Hermione woke to the light chirps of birds and the flickering sunlight that ran over her eyes and the whispering splashes of water. She fluttered her eyes opened to find herself on a boat, rowing down stream. She was covered in a warm fur blanket and had a new dress draped over her body.

"You awake?" She shot her head up to see Scabior at the end of the boat, staring at her with his familiar smirk across his face. Hermione slowly sat up and fixed the blanket over her body.

"Are you kidnapping me and taking me away somewhere?" she asked. Scabior snickered.

"No, I thought you would love a boat ride, but didn't really want to wake you up." Scabior stated rowing the paddles a few times. Hermione enjoyed the soft breeze that ran through her hair as she turned to look up ahead. For a moment they didn't speak to each other and watched as the river banks passed them. Hermione finally found the courage to speak as she peered over her shoulder.

"So tell me a bit about yourself, Scabior?" she asked him. Scabior chuckled.

"What do you want to know?" He questioned her.

"Anything you're comfortable with telling me." She assured him. Scabior took a minute of silence, thinking up what he wanted to tell her about himself.

"Well first off, Fenrir wasn't the one who bit me despite all the accusations about it." Scabior stated to her.

"He didn't?"

"It was another werewolf. I don't know who the bloody hell it was but it changed my life forever. I tried hiding it from my family, but a year after being bitten, they started to notice things. The moment my parents put two and two together, they kicked me out of the house yelling 'We don't want any Half-Breeds living here'. So I took to the forest where I learned how to survive. I found a few packs beforehand, but they were either too mean and always pushing me around or they told me to take a hike. After a month, I found Fenrir. He allowed me to stay in his pack. He seemed to like me but others thought that I was scrawny and wouldn't be much use. I was so fed up with being looked at like a pup, that I decided to work over time to show my worth. One day I was the new pup in the pack and next thing, Fenrir was appointing me to the leader of the Betas." Scabior stated to her. She tilted her head to the side, feeling sorry for Scabior. To have your own family kick you out for something you have no power over must have been heartbreaking to him.

"I'm sorry your parents did that to you." Hermione told him. Scabior shook his head.

"It's alright. If they hadn't, I wouldn't have met my real family and I would be stuck with people, who would have been frighten of me and didn't want to be near me." Scabior stated to her with a grin. Hermione scurried from her seat and climbed over till she was sitting beside Scabior. She laid her head against his shoulder, wrapped her arm around his waist as she sat there holding him close to her side. She felt him gently kiss the top of her head as he proceeded to row the boat downstream.
