Chapter 9

Aria's pov

"There is another option" Jace said

"Don't even" Isabelle said

"Absolutely not" Alec said

"Especially not for our mate" Alec said sternly

"I'm not afraid of the Silent Brothers" Jace said

"Who are the Silent Brothers?" I said

"They're Shadowhunters with superior powers" Jace said

"Who possess the ability to recover memories" Isabelle said

"A process that can also kill you, so there's that" Alec said sternly

"Your bedside manner is abysmal" Simon said

Alec sighed and looked at Jace.

"We've broken at least 18 Clave rules and now you want to go to the City of Bones?" Alec said

"There's no way. I won't allow it" Alec said

"I agree with him, especially now since we found our mate" Isabelle said

"It's too dangerous" She said

"You think I don't know that?" Jace said

"You think I want to lose our soulmate?" Jace said

"This isn't our choice to make" Jace said

"This is their choice" Jace said

"This is Aria and Clary's decision" Jace said

"You cannot ask them to do this. They don't know what they are doing" Isabelle said

Alec held me close to him and checked to make sure I was alright and I nodded and smiled nervously. I did not want to make the wrong decision.

"They do not know what they are facing" Isabelle said

"They are not prepared" Isabelle said

"If anyone can tell us another way to recover our memories" Clary started

"And still get the answers we need, we're listening" Clary said

Clary and I looked at everyone and they stayed silent. No one said anything which means we were left with one choice. Clary looked at me and nodded and I nodded back.

"That settles it" I said

"See? I told you they're one of us" Jace said smiling proudly at me

He tapped Alec's shoulder and walked off. Clary and Simon walked together following him. Alec and Isabelle stayed by my side and walked by me, looking at me nervously every once in a while as we followed them. We got into Simon's van and watched him drive to the location Jace told him.

Simon parked the van and we all got out. The sky was dark and eerie and there was a fire blazing and it looked scary here. Thank goodness, I had Clary and Simon here and my soulmates. I still have to talk to them about that later. I did not get this whole soulmate thing still. I got the idea of it but I need more information. But I will ask them later.

"Yeah this place isn't creepy" Simon said

"Not at all" I said nervously

Isabelle smiled softly at me.

"No need to be scared" She said

"We won't let anything happen to you" Alec said

"We promise" Jace said
