Chapter 13: Abduction

I found myself still in the room filled with portraits, examining each one as my hands gently traced their frames. The room had four rows, each lined with pictures of people, while landscape paintings adorned the sides.

Ang unang hanay ay may anim na larawan. Bawat larawan nito ay may mga pangalan at nakalagay sa kung anong lahi ang kinabibilangan nito.

The first picture depicted a woman with long hair and a serious expression. Her striking features, including long eyelashes and thick eyebrows, gave her a commanding presence. Her gemstone green eyes gleamed, marking her as the godmother of the fairies in ancient times.

The second and third portraits showed individuals with similar smiles, yet seriousness in their eyes. One had deep red eyes, while the other had golden eyes, both with distinctive thick eyebrows and long lashes.

I marveled at the beauty of our ancestors, each unique in their own way. My steps slowed as I walked, my fingers caressing the last portrait.

And there he was—the prime god among gods and goddesses.

His eyes shone yellow, his face angelic with a pointed nose, thick eyebrows, long eyelashes, and gentle lips. He looked innocent in the painting.

Nilapitan ko ito at hinaplos.

"Why did you let darkness consume you? Our world wouldn't have come to this if you hadn't. I wouldn't be here," I whispered.

Brushing away a tear, I couldn't help but blame him, though I knew I wasn't in a position to do so.

Napaiwas ako ng tingin at lumakad papalayo sa larawang iyon na parang walang nangyari. Pumunta ako sa bandang kaliwa ng silid na ito at tinitigan ang magandang tanawin. My gaze glued at the beautiful scenery of lined trees and a young girl smiling broadly at the camera. Her smile was radiant, her eyes innocent.

So adorable...

I felt an urge to pinch her cheeks. But who was she?

I shrugged, letting the thought drift away. Nang matapos tignan isa-isa ang mga larawan ay umupo ako sa isang upuan na gawa sa kahoy. Nanatili ako roon habang ang aking mga mata ay nakapako sa balat ng librong ninakaw ko kanina.

As I stretched, a loud bang near the door startled me. Squinting, I walked toward the noise. Upon reaching there, I saw no immortals, but I sensed a presence lingering in the air I breathed.

A strong presence.

I smirked. "You think I didn't feel your presence? Don't underestimate me, immortal."

My expression turned serious as I heard a chuckle.

"It's good to see you again, Amara. Did you miss me?"

Her voice sounded familiar.

Turning to face her, I froze in shock. There stood Kirsten—a deceased immortal, smiling at me. Was she a ghost?

"Oh, please. Stay away from me, Kirsten," I said coldly.

"Aren't you bothered to see me here, alive and kicking?"

I grimaced. "Why would I be? You're a masamang damo, and that's why you're still alive."

"Indeed," she chuckled.

My eyes narrowed as I noticed her gaze shift to the book I held in my right hand.

"Tingin mo papayagan kitang nakawin ang librong iyan? You don't know how important that book is."
