Chapter 24: Pathways

"Someone, not necessarily an immortal, let's say her soul or whatever they call it, whispered her message to me yesterday. She said that this someone has the ability to communicate with living things that we cannot see. Only this someone can. What are your thoughts about this someone?"

When I saw the reactions of different leaders, I secretly smirked.

Duh? I know I'm beautiful, but really?

Kidding.

"Do we need to know who that immortal is?" I don't know his name, but I know he is a professor. Hindi lang namin naging propesor.

I wanted to laugh at his question but I tried to stop myself. Alangan namang hindi, 'di ba? Minsan ang bobo talaga ng mga imortal. I mean stupid para expensive.

"Yes, of course," the goddess answered.

"How sure are you that someone's message is legit?"

That question slipped out of my mouth. I didn't really want to question it, but my mouth did. Silence filled the four corners of the room.

"Kasi if it is wrong, we will just waste our time finding that someone," I added.

I looked down when I felt embarrassed.

Tangina? Anong nakakatawa roon? I suddenly felt nervous.

His cold expression welcomed my gaze when I looked at him. He slightly shook his head as a sign that I should stop.

Okay.

It was my first time hearing her use Tagalog. And shit, it suited her. Parang ang hot niya kanina.

"Amara..."

"Yes?"

"Stop it." I froze. I was about to face him even though the goddess was still speaking in front when he added, "I'm the only hot one in your eyes."

"Fuck you."

I secretly rolled my eyes.

I turned back to the front and listened to the goddess. We are really lucky to be here just to hear and witness them meeting.

"The curse is just around the academy. And I am sure of that."

We were all stunned by what we heard and gasped.

"How?" the alpha of the wolves asked.

Ang gwapo naman niya.

"I always feel the dark energy. If it wasn't here inside the academy, I wouldn't feel this way." She looked at her fellow leaders. "You all know that the academy has a heavy barrier. A barrier of everything. We won't feel anything from outside and also the outsiders won't feel anything from inside this place."
