Chapter 12- The Confession of a Lover

The next morning Atem woke up to find Yugi sound asleep in his arms. He smiled, but then frowned when he remembered his bet with Mana.

'Well today's the day i have to do it' Atem sighed as he got out of bed.

Then Atem stretched and walked to the bathroom. He sat in the bath and was still worrying about how Yugi would react to his confession.

'I hope he doesn't hate me for this. Man, why does love have to be so hard' Atem groaned in agrivation.

When Atem was done bathing, he got out and changed into his royal clothing. Then he looked up, and Yugi was still aleep on the bed. He smiled and walked over to where Yugi was, and sat that he was sprawled across the bed with his arms and legs spread out under the blanket. Then Atem gently began to caress Yugi's cheek. Yugi unconciously moved towards the others body heat. Atem smiled again and chuckled. After a few more strokes, he got up and left the chamber. When he got to the dinning hall he saw the others.

"Morning, Pharoah. Where's Yugi" Joey asked.

"He is still sleeping" Atem answered.

"Oh that's right" Joey said as he remembered something.

"What do you mean" Atem asked.

"Yugi is going to sleep until lunch time, because he used a lot of his energy to track down Kiriha and summon his weapons, and open a portal to the Death Realm" Joey explained.

"I thought he would be used to it, seeing as he is an expert" Bakura said.

"Yes that is true. We are experts in this type of stuff, but Yugi had to use that power repeatedly before and now he is really tired" Ryou said.

"Oh okay" Atem said as he went back to thinking about how he is gonna announce his love to Yugi.

"Atem what are you thinking about" Seto asked.

"It is nothing Seto" Atem sighed.

"Yeah right, I don't believe you. So just tell us what is wrong" Seto said sternly.

"I am trying to figure out how to tell Yugi that I love him" Atem said.

At this Aknadin and Suguroku choked on their drink. When they calmed down they looked at the pharoah like he was crazy.

"My pharoah, you can't love another man. He won't be able to conceive and give birth for an heir to the throne" Suguroku exclaimed.

"Actually Yugi can" Ryou interupted.

"Excuse me" Aknadin asked.

"Well, in Jelena we have magic powers that allow us to change our bodies on the inside. So if someone loves someone else of the same gender, then the magic allows him or her to have children" Malik explained.

"Yeah like how me, Ryou, and Malik can also have children" Joey said.

"Oh well okay" Suguroku sighed in relief.

"Oh and Atem, the answer to that is to take Yugi somewhere simple yet romantic. Then once he is settled down tell him how you feel" Ryou smiled at Atem.

"Thanks Ryou" Atem said.

"No problem" Ryou said.

"But Atem, what made you think about confessing to Yugi in the first place" Joey asked curiously.

"I told Mana if she confessed her feelings to Mahaad, that I would confess to him tonight" Atem said.

"Ah, I see why she wanted you to do it tonight" Joey said in amusement.
