Chapter 21- Joey Ruler of the South!!

Joey's, Seto, Aknadin, Mokuba, and Serenity were walking south, through the purplish - black mist. Joey was in the front with his ears perked up and sniffing the air. He was followed by Mokuba, who was in front of Seto. Aknadin was behind them with Serenity who was also on alert. Suddenly Joey stopped.

"What's wrong Joey" Seto asked.

"I can smell them" Joey snarled.

Then he turned to the others.

"Stay here" Joey said.

The others looked at him worriedly.

"Where are you going" Aknadin asked.

Joey narrowed his eyes to a dark alley way nearby.

"Don't worry I will be quick" Joey said.

He closed his eyes and chanted some words. Suddenly a force field came over the group. Then Joey vanished in the mist. The others were left alone in the mist. Then they heard a sound, which made them look in the direction the sound came from. Suddenly a creature with black spikes, sharp nails, and long fangs came into view. The creature lunged at them but before it could reach them, it shattered into a million pieces. The group stood there in shock. Then from the shadows, Joey appeared.

"Are you guys okay" Joey asked.

"Y-yeah" Seto stuttered.

Joey nodded.

Then they went on, but along the way they were attacked by demons. But every time a demon appeared Joey would be the first to use his claws to kill them.

"Joey how much longer are we gonna have to hunt" Serenity asked.

"We have to keep going until we reach the border of the kingdom" Joey answered.

"Okay" Mokuba said.

Once again Joey stopped, and hit tail started flexing, and his ears started to twitch left and right.

"What's going on" Aknadin asked.

Suddenly an arrow came out of no where and tried to hit Seto, but it stopped in mid-air, three inches away from his nose. Then the arrow snapped in half. Suddenly a whole bunch of arrows were shot at them.

"RUN" Joey shouted.

They all started to run, while Joey shielded them with his magic. When that got to the outskirts of town, the arrows stopped shooting.

"Where were those arrows coming from" Mokuba asked.

"Thin air. It is a type of magic called wind arrows. It uses the power of air to create arrows and can peirce through any thing" Joey answered.

"So now what" Seto asked.

"I use my magic to conquer the south" Joey said plainly.

"How are you going to do that" Seto exclaimed.

"Just watch" Joey said.

Then Joey tapped his foot and the ground below them rose so that they could see the entire kingdom. Then Joey walked forward so he could see the southern part of the kingdom. The palace was in the middle and everything around it were the homes of the people. The entire kingdom was covered by purplish - black mist. Seto, Mokuba, Aknadin, and Serenity stayed behind Joey to see what he would do. Then Joey closed his eyes, his ears began to twitch, and his tail was swaying.

"Dark magic, Frozen Ice Field" Joey said.

Suddenly spikes of ice started to swallow up the entire south side of the kingdom.

"Death magic, Shadow Demon Reaper" Joey said.

Then shadows started to cover the ice and demon screams could be heard. Once he said those spells, Joey sat criss-crossed on the ground with his eyes closed. The three behind him sat down as well and waited for something to happen.

//Seto\\ Joey said through the link.

\\yes// Seto answered.

//I need you to use your link with Atem, Bakura, and Marik. I want you to tell them, to tell Ryou l, Malik, and Yugi that I am ready\\ Joey said.

\\alright// Seto said.

Then Joey shut the link off. Seto, however, focused his mind on Bakura, Marik, and Atem.

(Hey you guys) Seto called through the link.

(What is it Seto) the three replied.

(Joey needs you three to tell your hikaris that he us ready) Seto said.

(Alright, but what does that mean) Atem asked.

(I don't know but the entire south side is completely covered with ice and shadows) Seto said.

(no wonder it felt colder) Bakura said amazed.

(Well, we'll deliver the message Seto) Marik said.

Then their link was turned off.

With Atem-

"Yugi, Joey says that he is ready" Atem said.

Yugi nodded and they kept on walking, but Yugi stopped at hearing a sound.

With Bakura-

"Ryou, Seto said that Joey is ready" Bakura said.

"Alright Bakura" Ryou said.

They walked on but were stopped by a wall of demon creatures.

With Marik-

"What did Seto want" Malik asked.

"How did you know I was talking to him" Marik asked suprised.

"You stopped and had that daydream look" Malik answered while his ears started twitching.

"He said to tell you that Joey is ready" Marik said.

"Okay" Malik said as he began ro walk again.

"What is ge ready for" Marik asked.

"Nothing that you should worry about" Malik said as he walked.

"Okay" Marik said a little unsure still.

Suddenly they heard a lot of noises. They looked around, but saw nothing. Then when they turned towards the direction they were heading, there was a giant shadow wall in front of them. Then when they turned around, they saw that they were surrounded by the shadow wall.
