Chapter 20- Dark Selves

When the sarcophagus opened it was a pool of darkness. Suddenly a figure came out of the lilac sarcophagus. It was Malik. Then he began to walked 12 feet away from the sarcophagus. When he was away from the sarcophagus, he kneeled on one knee with his head bowed. However he was very different. Everyone had wide eyes.

He had sandy blonde cat ears that were tipped with black. His hair was a darker shade of sandy blonde, and his soft lilac eyes were now a shade darker and tinged with a light crimson shade. He was also wearing a black tunic, a lilac belt and ankle bands and armbands, along with a black choker. He also had a sandy blonde tail that had a golden ring on it near the tip of the tail. But the the feature that caught their eyes the most, were the white, long vampire fangs.

Then another figure walked out of the white sarcophagus. It was Ryou. He walked away from the sarcophagus, as well and kneeled.

Ryou's white silky hair was now covered in a light shade of black. He had white ears that were also tipped with black. His eyes were now a dark chocolate brown with a shade of crimson. He was wearing a black tunic, white belt, ankle bands, and armbands, along with a black choker. He also had a white tail, that also had a golden ring near the tip. And sure enough, he too, had long white fangs.

The next figure walked out of the golden sarcophagus. It was Joey. He went and kneeled in the middle of the two.

He had golden cat ears that were also tipped with black. His hair was now a dark gold, and shaded with black. He had a dark golden tail that also had a golden ring. His fangs were long and white as well. His eyes were now a bright golden, and outlined with black. He wore a black tunic, with a blue belt, armband, and ankle band, along with a black choker.

When the three were kneeling, the sarcophagus were pulled back into the ground, by chains, leaving only one sarcophagus left. When their own sarcophagus was gone, they stood up and walked to the sides of the throne room. Suddenly footsteps could be heard, and a figure emerged from the last sarcophagus. It was Yugi, but as he walked out he had his eyes closed.

Yugi was wearing a black tunic, a crimson belt, armband, ankle band, and a silver choker. He had black cat ears, and a black tail with a silver and golden ring on it. He also had long white fangs. His golden bangs were now gray, and his amethyst tips were now a blood red color. Draped around his shoulders was a dark amethyst cape, and he wore a silver crown upon his head.

When he was in front of the council he stopped and opened his eyes. Everyone gasped. His eyes were a dark, blood red crimson. They were even darker than Atem's own crimson eyes.

Then his sarcophagus was pulled back into the ground and the other three Hikaris were at Yugi's side. Then they summoned the weapons with their Yamis' blood. Four silver challace appeared in front of them. They held their weapons over each challace, and the blood dripped into it. When their weapons were once again gold, they through them in the air. The weapons vanished and left no trace. Then the Hikaris picked up the challace that had their Yamis blood. Then they began a chant.

"With the blood of our Yamis. We transform back into our true selves at dawn. We take this blood as a symbol of our bond. We will drink the blood and strengthen our bond, will power, and spirit" the four said together.

"I, Ryou Bakura, Hikari to Yami Bakura Akeifa, drink his blood in symbolism of my trust in him" Ryou said as he drank from the challace.

"I, Malik Ikatsu, Hikari to Yami Marik Ishtar, drink his blood in symbolism of my faith in him" Malik said as he also drank from the challace.

"I, Joey Wheeler, Hikari to Yami Seto Kaiba, drink his blood in symbolism of my loyalty to him" Joey said as he began to drink the blood.

"I, Yugi Mouto, Hikari to Yami Atem Sennen, drink his blood in symbolism of my partnership with him" Yugi said as he drank from the challace.

After they drank from the challace, the Yamis felt power surge through their bodies. The Hikaris dropped the challace, and it turned into black sand. Then they looked up at the council.

"Are you guys ready" Yugi asked.

They all nodded.

"Very well. Follow us" Yugi said.

They all went to the gates of the palace, where they met up with the others.

"Yugi, they seem to have gotten stronger" Mokuba said.

"Yeah, and there's more of them" Mana said.

"How many did you guys see" Yugi asked.

"There were more than a hundred, last time we counted" Otogi said.

"What do you suggest we do" Mai asked.

"Okay, all of them are spread out so I want us all to seperated in different directions. Then when we locate them all, we send them straight to the throne room" Yugi said.

"Ok, so who goes with who" Honda asked.

"Okay, Seto, Mokuba, Aknadin, Serenity and I will handle the South part of the kingdom" Joey said.

They all nodded and Joey's group left to the south.

"Bakura, Otogi, Honda and I will handle the west" Ryou said, and his group left to the west.

"Marik, Ishizu, Mahaad, Shadi and I will get the East" Malik said as they ran off to the east.

"Okay so that leaves us with the North" Yugi said to Mana, Atem, Solomon, and Mai.

"Mai do you think you can handle guarding the back of the group while I lead us" Yugi asked.

"Sure thing Yugi" Mai said as he followed behind the others.

Solomon also joined Mai in the back. Then they started walking North.
