Chapter 26

"We were on a mission" Ryou started.

"Well technically Malik was on the mission. Ryou had to prepare some battle plans, I had to schedule treaties and Yugi had to watch from the kingdom" Joey said.

"So anyways Malik's job was to watch over a village. Seems pretty easy right" Ryou questioned.

The council nodded

"Well it isn't. The place was constantly being attacked by demonic creatures" Yugi said.

"Wait, Yugi why didn't you use your powers to stop it" Atem asked.

"Atem, I was only thirteen. My powers were limited until I found my Yami." Yugi answered.

"And there was the fact that Yugi had to use his power to help your father in the war against Nigeria" Ryou said.

"What do you mean he helped in the war" Mahaad asked.

"Uggh. I'll explain that later. Let's keep on track. So anyways Malik was alone and had to protect the village. But one day those creatures caught him off guard and they took control of his body, and used him to try and kill those villagers." Yugi said.

"It's really scary when some demonic creature grabs a hold of your body ya know. And when they control you, you can still see and hear everything" Ryou informed.

"Yes but luckily, everyone made it to safety, well except one family, that was made up of the parents and their daughter" Joey said sadly.

"Malik, who was being controlled, killed the family. He had to watch himself mercilessly murder the entire family." Yugi said with slight anger.

"After he had murdered the family however, the demon detached itself from Malik. Once Malik had seen what he had done, he was pissed." Ryou said.

"He released his power and burned every single demon, in, near or around the village, into ashes. Then he looked at the family he had just murdered" Joey said.

"And you know what he did? He calmed down, used his light magic, and brought the family back to life" Yugi smiled.

"When we finally got to the sight, we found him clinging to their daughter, the parents hugging him, and he was saying "I'm sorry" over and over" Ryou said.

"And ever since that day, he has made sure that anyone he protects will always stay alive" Joey said.

Everyone just stared shocked at them. After a while everything settled down. Then Marik ran to find Malik.

"So Yugi, how did you help with the war" Mahaad asked.

"I'll just show you guys what I did instead. Ishizu can I see your millennium necklace" Yugi asked.

"Sure" Ishizu said as she handed him the necklace.

He put it around his neck and the throne room changed. And they could see someone. It was Yugi but younger.
