Chapter 17- Yugi and Ryou Affect

When Atem woke up, Yugi was still asleep. As he remembered what happened last night, he smiled to himself. Then he got up, and got dressed. When he was done, Yugi was still asleep. He leaned over Yugi and kissed his forehead. Then he went to the dinning hall for breakfast. Everyone except Ryou and Bakura were there.

"Morning Atem" Seto said.

"Morning Seto" Atem said as he sat down and began to eat.

"Where's Yugi" Joey asked worriedly.

"He is still asleep" Atem answered.

Suddenly the doors opened to reveal Bakura. He went to his chair and sat down, and began eating.

"Um, Bakura where is Ryou" Malik asked nervously.

"He is asleep" Bakura answered.

At that answer Joey and Malik paled. Suddenly the boys stood up very fast. Then they looked at each other.

"I've got Yugi" Joey said.

"I've got Ryou" Malik said.

They both nodded and ran out the door, leaving a very confused council behind.

"What was that about" Aknadin and Ishizu asked.

"I don't know but something tells me we better hurry up with breakfast, and get to the throne room" Atem said.

The others nodded and ate. When they were done eating, they all went to the throne room. Once they were all settled the doors burst open. Through the doors, came Joey and Malik dragging a tied up Yugi and Ryou. The boys also had rags in their mouths, so they couldn't speak, but they also had angry looks. Joey and Malik dragged the two, to the middle of the throne room. Then they let go of the ropes.

"Phew" Malik sighed in relief.

"That..was...harder..than...I...thought" Joey panted.

"Mmmpphh" Yugi and Ryou glared at each other.

Atem cleared his throat.

"Um, what is going on" Atem asked.

"Okay, we'll you see this is an affect of the DFM" Malik said.

"Yeah bit why are they glaring at each other" Bakura asked "I mean they are friends".

"Yeah but, before that were friends they were natural enemies" Joey answered.

"WHAT!?" the entire court yelled.

"Yeah, after all Ryou is a theif, and Yugi is a king. So it is only natural. For now they won't remember that they are friends for a little while" Malik said.

"Okay but why did you put rags in their mouths" Marik asked.

"So they won't fight verbally. It is really a ruckus when they fight" Malik answered.

"Can you remove the rags" Atem asked.

"Alright, but be prepared" Joey warned.

He turned to the two on the floor that were tied up, to see that their eyes were closed in annoyance. Joey sighed and removed the rags and untied them. Yugi and Ryou both opened their eyes and stood up. Then looked at the council, before glaring at each other.

"What do you want you stupid king" Ryou sneered.

The council looked shocked, but all focused on the two.

"Nothing you stupid thief" Yugi hissed back.

"You wanna go you pompous royal" Ryou challenged.

"Bring it, you low-class raider" Yugi smirked.
