Chapter 13- Mind Link

The next day Atem woke up to find Yugi in his arms, but he was on top of his chest. Atem remembered the events of the night before and smiled. Then he gently nudged Yugi, and he woke up. Yugi looked up to see happy crimson eyes.

"Morning Atem" Yugi smiled.

"Morning, aibou" Atem said happily.

"Aibou" Yugi asked curiously.

"Yeah it means partner. It is my nickname for you" Atem said.

"Aw, now I have to come up with one for you" Yugi giggled.

"And what is it you are going to give me" Atem asked.

"Hmm, I've got it. I will call you mou hitori no boku, or in short mou hitori. It means my other self" Yugi said.

"Alright then. But we have to get up now and go eat breakfast" Atem said.

"Alright" Yugi nodded as he got up.

After Yugi and Atem got ready, they headed towards the dinning hall to find everyone smirking at them, as they sat down.

"What" Atem asked.

"Oh nothing, but do the words Yes! He loves me, he loves me! Sound familiar" Bakura and Malik smirked.

"You guys heard that" Atem asked blushing.

"Atem, the entire palace heard it" Seto laughed.

"Oh" Atem said embarrassed.

"So you guys are together" Ryou asked.

"Yes" Yugi said.

"This is great you guys are together. Now we can make fun of you for it" Joey and Malik joked.

"Don't even try it, because if you two do, all of Egypt will know every embarrassing thing you guys have done since you were four" Yugi stated.

"Okay, okay we won't do it" Joey said nervously.

"Besides I already know that Malik and Marik started dating 3 days ago, Ryou and Bakura started dating 5 days ago, and Joey and Seto started dating 8 days ago" Yugi said calmly while he drank.

"How did you know" Ryou, Malik, and Joey asked shocked.

"You guys forgot to close the mind link, so I could here every thought that crossed your minds" Yugi smirked.

"Wait so you're telling us that you saw everything" Joey asked.

"Yup. From fantasies to thoughts. I saw everything " Yugi said with his smirk.

"Aw man " Malik said embarrassed.

"Um excuse me, but what is a mind link" Atem asked.

" It is sort of like telepathy. Since they are Hikaris I can communicate telepathically with them. But the link also allows the other to see into the others mind. But if you don't want anyone to see or hear what you are thinking, you just block the link. See you are a Yami, so you can communicate with other Yamis. But I am the only Hikari you can communicate to, since I am your hikari. It is the same for Seto, Marik, and Bakura" Yugi explained.

"Can you use yhe mind link for a moment, so I know what it really is" Atem asked.

"Sure" Yugi said.

// hello Atem. Can you hear me\\ Yugi asked through the link.

Atem looked at Yugi and could see he didn't move his lips.

"How did you do that" Atem asked shocked.

"Simple just think of me and then focus. Once you are focused you should feel my thoughts and speak" Yugi said.

Atem nodded and tried.

// Loud and clear Atem\\ Yugi giggled.

\\ this is so awesome// Atem thought.

//Um, you still have the link open Atem\\ Yugi giggled.

\\oh// Atem blushed embarrassed.

//anyways this link helps if we are either in trouble the other comes to help. You can also feel the others pain or emotion through it as well\\ Yugi explained.

\\alright, hey Yugi can we practice this for the entire day\\ Atem asked.

//sure but try and make a link with Bakura first. I wanna see his reaction\\ Yugi giggled.

Atem nodded and focused on Bakura.

(Hello Bakura) Atem said in a creepy voice.

" Who said that" Bakura asked confused.

Everyone looked at him confused while Yugi and Atem were trying not to laugh.

(It is your conscience speaking) Atem said through the link.

"Ryou I am hearing a creepy voice in my head, and it is weird" Bakura said worriedly.

That did it and Yugi and Atem burst out laughing. When Malik, Joey, and Ryou figured out what was going on, that laughed as well. When everyone stopped, the others looked at them confused.

"What are you guys laughing about" Bakura asked.

"Bakura, Atem was using a mind link with you" Ryou said.

"Not cool pharoah, not cool" Bakura complained.

"It was Yugi's idea" Atem said.

"Yeah but you still went along with it" Yugi said.

"Okay I apologize" Atem said " but it was way too funny".

After they laughed and ate breakfast, the Hikaris showed the Yamis how to use the link so they can keep in contact if they were seperated. When they got to the throne room, they all settled down and went through all the trials. During the trials they would communicate with each other through their link as well. After the trials were done it was still noon, so they decided to separate, and do their own thing. Yugi, Ryou, Malik, and Joey, however, had to talk about something in private. So the other left them alone for a while, and the Hikaris closed their link to their Yamis.

"Yugi, what are we gonna do? It will happen in 5 days" Ryou said.

"I don't know, but we have to tell them tonight" Yugi said.

"Yeah, but what if they abandon us" Joey asked scared.

"Relax Joey, they would never do that. If anything they would be happy to help us" Yugi said.

"But still, it is going to hurt" Malik said.

"I know it will but this is for their safety. If we don't do this then we will be vulnerable to our enemies" Yugi stated to the three worried boys.

"Yugi aren't you worried about them as well" Malik asked.

"Of course I am, it is just, I want them to live and be happy, so we have to do it or they will be as vulnerable as us" Yugi said

"Okay" they all nodded.

The boys seperated and went to hang out with their Yamis. By the time it was dinner, they all got to the dinning hall and sat down. Then Yugi decided to speak.

"Um, guys the it's something we have to tell you guys" Yugi said seriously.

"What is it Yugi" Atem asked with worry in his voice.

Yugi looked up at everyone and cleared his throat.
