Raichu

3rd Person POV

With Manectric now gone, it was just Raichu left. Ash had heard stories of Surge's powerful ace. It was his most powerful and well trained Pokemon. It wasn't like the other Pokemon that Surge had, it wasn't evolved immediately and learned the moves and got the stats that it should have gotten before evolving.

Ash knew that the upcoming task wasn't going to be easy. Raichu could easily sweep an inexperienced team of 6 Pokemon. While his Pokemon were strong for their levels, they were still not the powerhouses they would evolve into. Ash would have to fight this battle very carefully. He had 2 Ground Types, but Larvitar had taken some damage and was still new to battling while Gible was so weak it probably couldn't take a good hit. Charmander also had taken some damage and was catching its breath after launching so many attacks.

This would end up very badly for Ash if he didn't start thinking strategically about the fight.

'Now you regret not sending me out' Pikachu said with a pout. 'I was going to go destroy that loser for what he called me earlier. Damn him'

'Just keep me out for now' Charmander called to Ash 'I'll try to weaken the Raichu then you can use Gible and Larvitar to finish it off'

'Alright, I guess I don't have a better plan' Ash replied and nodded to the referee he wasn't going to switch his Pokemon.

Surge then threw out Raichu.

"RAICHUUU!" the Pokemon yelled as it came out showing its dominance.

'Fuck' Ash thought mentally.

"Begin" the referee said while waving his flag.

'Use Ember, Charmander, try to burn the Raichu, if we can get the continuous damage this will be much easier.'

Charmander nodded and shot a bunch of small flames toward Raichu.

"Dodge it, then use Thundershock" Surge commanded.

Raichu deftly dodged the move with ease and charged up a Thundershock which it then launched toward Charmander.

Charmander dodged the attack and returned with Flamethower. The fire hit Raichu and made it fly back.

Raichu landed on his feet with smoke coming off its skin. It growled and sent another Thunderbolt towards Charmander who wasn't expecting the attack and took the attack. Once the smoke cleared, Charmander was on the ground, knocked out.

"Charmander is unable to battle, Raichu wins! Challenger Ash Ketchum, please send out your next Pokemon" the referee called.

Ash sighed and returned Charmander.

'Not bad' he said to himself.

He decided that it was probably best for Larvitar to get a little bit more time to rest. The sandstorm had dissipated by now, and it would use a good amount of Larvitar's energy to start it up again.

'You're up Gible' Ash said to himself as he pulled out Gible's Pokeball.

"Gible, I choose you!" Ash said out loud and threw the Pokeball and released Gible.

Gible looked around at the battlefield, which still had the holes from its first battle with Electivire. On the other side stood a Raichu which was smiling with a cocky grin.

"Battle Begin!" the referee said and raised his flags.

"Raichu, use Quick Attack, then use Nuzzle" Surge called out to his Pokemon.

'Dig' Ash ordered in his mind.

However, the Quick Attack was too fast for the tired Gible. The Pokemon fell back and was hit again by a Nuzzle. However, Gible was a Ground Type and didn't take damage from the move and in turn, didn't get paralyzed.

Ash started to laugh at Surge's stupidity.

"You little punk, I'll show you" Surge growled.

"Gible use Dig" Ash said out loud this time.

Gible immediately start burrowing into the ground before Raichu could react.

'Use Draco Meteor undergound. I know you might get knocked out, but I think it's our only bet' Ash said.

'Alright then, operation self-destruct is a go' Gible replied.

Surge growled.

"You can't hide your Pokemon forever you little twerp. Are you too scared to fight?"

Ash ignored him and focused on the move at hand. He would have to time it well so the Draco Meteor explosion would hit Raichu as well.

'Now!' he yelled mentally.

After a few seconds, the ground started to shake, and after a few seconds, it exploded.

Ash covered his face from all the dust and looked around to see if Raichu was knocked out and if Gible was either.

Once the dust cleared, Gible was knocked out in a huge hole. Raichu was barely standing and shook its head.

"AHAHAHAHA" Surge laughed "You tried to pull an Electrode. Now prepare to feel the wrath of my Raich-"

Surge stopped abruptly when he saw the condition his Pokemon was in. He had no idea that it had taken so much damage from that move even though Gible had already used it and lowered its special attack. If it weren't for the lower special attack, Raichu would have been knocked out.

Ash understood what Surge was thinking and smirked. It was now Larvitar's turn. He could now prove himself.

"Gible is unable to battle, Challenger Ash, please send out your last Pokemon" the referee called.

Ash returned Gible and told him that he did a great job.

He then pulled out Larvitar's Pokeball and threw it onto the destroyed battlefield.

"Larvit-" Larvitar began to say and looked around. 'What the fuck happened around here?'

'That's not important. Let's just beat Surge and get out of here. I'm tired of watching this dumb ass make stupid mistakes against Ground Types.'

Larvitar chuckled and looked at its opponent who looked very beaten up and tired. If he played this safe, there was an easy way to win this.

"Battle begin!"

The second the referee started the battle, Larvitar started up its sandstorm. It knew that with the sandstorm, Raichu would take damage and all Larvitar had to do was to stay back and not get to close.

'Just don't get too close to Raichu, if you get knocked out, we lose. You're our last guy' Ash said to Larvitar.

Larvitar and nodded and steeled itself. He had to make sure he didn't lose this fight.

"Raichu, use Quick Attack, find that tiny bug. Then, use Focus Punch" Surge ordered. He knew that Raichu didn't have too much time left. The sandstorm would end this battle soon if he didn't land a good hit on Larvitar fast.

'Use Rock Throw' Ash ordered 'Don't let it get near you'

Larvitar obliged and started throwing rocks at Raichu who kept dodging and getting closer to Larvitar. Once it got close enough it jumped up and started to come down using Focus Punch. However, Larvitar jumped back and used Scary Face, throwing off Raichu and used Rock Throw one more time, nailing the rat and knocking it out.

Once Raichu was knocked out, Larvitar stopped the sandstorm and fell down exhausted.

"Raichu is unable to battle, Larvitar wins! Lieutenant Surge has no more Pokemon remaining. Therefore, Ash Ketchum wins."

"Let's go!" Ash yelled happily.

Larvitar and Pikachu jumped into the air with joy and celebrated.

"Here is the Thunder Badge" Surge said to Ash and handed him the badge. "You've earned it."
