Ash and Pikachu had finally made it to Pewter City, but it was almost midnight.

"That was awful, I don't think I've ever been bitten by so many bugs in my entire life" Ash said scratching his arm.

'At least we're finally here' Pikachu said jumping off Ash's shoulder.

"Where are you going?"

'I'm not going to that weird pink haired murderer. I'd like to stay alive thank you very much.'

Ash sighed and rubbed his face. This was going to be his next big challenge of the day.

After making Pikachu get healed with the rest of his Pokemon, even though most of them didn't need to be healed, Ash went to the one of the Pokemon video callers or whatever you call them.

He called the Pokemon Center in Vermillion City hoping that Misty was staying there for the night.

The call was answered by Nurse Joy who asked Ash who he was calling for.

Ash told her he was calling for Misty Waterflower and waited for Nurse Joy to see if she was staying at the Pokemon Center.

Nurse Joy told Ash that Misty would be there in a minute and left the call on hold. After a few seconds, Misty appeared on the video screen.

"Ash! Where the hell are you!?" she yelled at him pissed off that he left her.

"I'm in Pewter City" Ash replied calmly trying to not draw too much attention to himself.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Misty screamed.

Ash decided it was a good idea to try and lower the volume and fumbled around trying to find the volume controls.

After lowering the volume, he responded.

"Pikachu and I kinda got lost, and we ended up here. And before you ask, yes, there is a land route to Pewter. But it's really long and it's awful so I don't recommend it at all. I'll be back tomorrow by afternoon or maybe evening, so do whatever you want until then I guess."

"WAIT YOU'RE TELLING ME TH-" Misty began but was cut off.

"Oh, look. My Pokemon are ready to be taken back. See you tomorrow, Misty. Bye!" Ash quickly said and hung up, not trying to look like an idiot in front of everyone.

"Ash Ketchum, your Pokemon are ready to be collected" a sing song voice called out.

Ash walked over and saw a tray with six bowls in it. Pikachu was pouting in one of them outside his Pokeball like usual. People started to give him even more weird looks and Ash decided it was best to go to the PC room so that he could have Professor Oak transfer some of his newly caught Pokemon over so he could start training them for his battle against Lt. Surge.

It was essential he trained his Pokemon immediately. He had to get a feel for their battle style and how strong they were. He already knew that Bulbasaur was an experienced fighter and just based of the sandstorm that Larvitar had made, he was really powerful, too.

Ash had high hopes for his new Pokemon and was ready to see what they could do.

Ash went to the video call machine again and called Professor Oak's Lab. After a few rings, the Professor's face popped up on the screen.

"Hello Ash, what a nice surprise to see you!" the professor said happily, glad to see his favorite disciple.

"Hi Professor, I was just wondering if you could transfer me a few Pokemon that I caught earlier today. I know it's a little late, so I understand if you can't" Ash replied hoping that the Professor would help him.

"Nonsense, no time is too late for me. You want your new Bulbasaur, Larvitar, or both?"

"Both" Ash said and walked over to the Pokemon Transfer machine which was right next to the video caller.

"And which Pokemon are you going to send to the lab?" Oak asked getting the 2 Pokeballs which contained Ash's new team members.

"I'm going to send back Pidgeotto and Poliwag" Ash said while pulling out their Pokeballs.

"Good choice, Ash. Flying and Water Types have a disadvantage against Electric Type Pokemon" Professor Oak said matter-of-factly, making Ash roll his eyes.

"Wait, how do you know I'm going to battle Lt. Surge?"

"I didn't. Just assumed you were fighting Electric Type Pokemon since you're giving me Water and Flying Type Pokemon and taking Ground and Grass Types" Oak replied.

"Then why did you tell me that Flying and Water Types were weak to Electric? I obviously know that then" Ash asked incredulously.

"I don't know. I'm a Professor, I'm supposed to act like an idiot. Anyways, I have work to do, bye Ash" Professor Oak said and ended the call.

Ash picked up his new Pokemon from the Transfer Machine and walked outside. He send out all of his Pokemon and introduced his old Pokemon to his new ones. Then, he began training.

Lt. Surge wasn't going to know what hit him.
