A Tough Turtle

A/N: I haven't been able to update the past few days since school just ended and I had exams. I also went to D.C. as well, but I'm back now :) Plus the Lightning were playing today and I was watching the game and couldn't update so I'm doing it at 10 PM.

3rd Person POV

Ash decided that he would give Pikachu the honors of fighting this battle.

"Alright Pikachu, it's all you" Ash said and threw it's Pokeball out.

"PIKA!" Pikachu yelled as it came out of its Pokeball.

'Come on, rat, let's settle this' The leader of Squirtle Squad said.

Pikachu growled.

"Go, Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered.

Squirtle leapt to the side and shot back with a Water Gun.

'Dodge it, then use Volt Tackle' 

Pikachu surrounded itself in electricity and charged (A/N: puns) towards Squirtle.

Squirtle retreated into its shell and shot a powerful beam of water from inside. The attack hit Pikachu, the Electric Type kept going and sent Squirtle flying.

Squirtle landed hard and came out of its shell, but it taken considerably less damage than a direct hit.

Pikachu got hit by the recoil from the attack, and Squirtle immediately capitalized. It ran forward with surprising speed and hit Pikachu with a Skull Bash.

Ash was quite astounded by Squirtle's battle sense, speed, and power. He decided that if he beat Squirtle, he was going to catch it.

Pikachu got up from the attack and growled.

'You're fast for a turtle, I'll give you that'

Squirtle smirked.

'But too bad I'm faster'

Pikachu started to dash around rapidly, almost as if it were teleporting.

'Now use Quick Attack, to lead into a Volt Tackle' Ash said mentally.

Pikachu dashed, at extreme speeds, and when it got close to Squirtle, the Pokemon surrounded itself in electricity. 

Pikachu slammed into Squirtle at full force and sent the Pokemon flying into a tree, when it fell, knocked out.

"Alright, go Pokeball!" Ash said as he threw a Pokeball at the fainted Pokemon.

The ball hit Squirtle, and the Pokemon became absorbed into the device. After a couple of shakes, the ball 'dinged', signaling the Pokemon had been caught.

The other Squirtles looked on in dismay, not able to believe that their leader had just captured. Behind them, Officer Jenny rode in on her motorcycle.

"Is anyone hurt?" she asked.

"Um...no" Ash said confused.

"Okay, I received a report that there was a huge smoke beacon in this area, so I came to check it out. Wait, are those the rogue Squirtles?"

"Oh...I'm-"

"You 4 are under arrest!" Jenny said and threw out several Growlithe, Poochyena, and Houndour which surrounded the Squirtles. They still hadn't fully recovered and surrendered.

Ash watched as the police dogs rounded up the Squirtles and marched them off to the police station. 

"I'm going to have to put them through rehabilitation, then we'll see where we're at" Jenny said. "Thank you for your help."

With that, she climbed back on her motorcycle and drove off toward the police station.

'Wow, what an L for those guys' Pikachu said.

Ash shrugged. He felt kinda bad, but then again, he didn't make them do the things that they did. He then looked at the Squirtle he had just caught and picked up the Pokeball. 

The ball glowed white before disappearing, making its way to Professor Oak's Lab.

"Alright, Poliwag, let's get back to your training" Ash said.

'Yes! Now I can throw more rocks at people' Gible said gleefully.

Pikachu shook his head and jumped onto Ash's shoulder.

After spending the rest of the day training Poliwag and the other Pokemon that he was going to use, Ash walked back to the Pokemon Center.

On the way, he noticed something weird. Around him, everything started to become fuzzy and distorted. He shook his head, but nothing cleared.

'You alright?' Pikachu asked.

"You don't see that?" Ash said pointing out into the streets.

Pikachu looked around, but there seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary.

Ash kneeled and held his head in his hands and groaned in pain. He looked around and saw a girl with dark blue hair staring at him intensely.

Ash used his Aura powers and finally broke through whatever was fiddling with his head. He looked back and saw a surprised expression on the girl's face before she disappeared from view.

Ash blinked, but when he saw nothing there, he slowly got up.

"What the hell was that?" he said panting.

'What do you mean? Everything was perfectly normal' Pikachu said confused.

Ash shook his head.

"I'll get to the bottom of this, but for now, I need to sit down"

With the help of Charmeleon, Ash made it back to the Pokemon Center and walked into his room. Misty was already there, reading a book.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"I'll explain later" Ash replied and promptly passed out on a bed.

A/N: I know this one a bit short, but I need to warm myself up again since I took way too long writing this chapter. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next chapter a bit better and longer. 850 words cyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
