A Magikarp

Ash POV

I walked back to the Pokemon Center about an hour later with my 3 Pokemon. When I went inside, I saw that everyone was back awake and that the cops were now here.

I pretended to be surprised by the whole scene and said I knew nothing about the incident. But I knew I wasn't fooling shit. They probably had already checked the security cameras since those Team Rocket goons were obviously too dumb to get rid of them.

I knew the Officers just wanted me to admit to stopping the grunts but I just shrugged and went up to my room.

Inside, I saw Misty waiting for me.

"I know you were the one who saved the Pokémon Ash" Misty said to me with a narrowed expression.

"What are talking about?" I said. I was getting too much attention than I needed, all I wanted was peace and a nice nap.

"Stop being humble or whatever. I've already seen the security footage, you can own up to your deeds."

"What if I don't want to? All I want to do right now is go to sleep. Also, we're going to Celadon City tomorrow, so if you have any shopping to do, I suggest you do it now. I'm pretty sure the malls are 24/7 anyway" I replied and fell on my bed.

Soon, sleep overtook me and I quickly passed out.

When I woke up, it was about 6:30 in the morning. Misty was asleep in her bed and looked peaceful for once, something I thought wasn't possible.

I got my day started and got ready. I went down to get breakfast and let my Pokémon out as well. They went to the Pokémon eating area while I went to the mess hall.

Once I finished my breakfast, I walked upstairs and saw Misty still sleeping. I sighed and shook her to wake her up. After a few moments, she woke up and looked at the time. Then she looked at me like I was crazy.

"It's 6:50. How are you awake this early? You literally went to sleep at 3" Misty said in a scratchy tone.

"Waking up early is kind of a habit. I can't really stop myself, so can you get ready now so we can start and get to Cerulean City? We're going to take that route to get to Lavender Town since its pretty fast" I said and walked out of the room.

About 25 minutes later, Misty came out of the Pokemon Center with her stuff packed up.

"Alright Ash, let's go" she said to me.

I nodded and got up. I returned all the Pokémon I had sent out earlier and picked up my bag pack.

"How come we're going back to Cerulean?" Misty asked me as we started to the route.

"This route to Lavender Town is faster and less busy, so we won't encounter as many trainers who want to fight for no reason" I replied.

I hated those tiny kids  who got Ratatas from their parents and thought they could challenge me and beat me.

Pikachu came out of his Pokeball and sat on my shoulder while we walked. On the way, we came across a small pond.

"Hey Ash, look. There's a Pokémon in there" Misty said to me and looked closer.

Suddenly, she got splashed by water and stumbled back, surprised.

"W-Whoa"

I caught he as she was about to fall and helped her up. When I looked closer, I saw a Magikarp in the water.

"Hey look, it's a Magikarp" I said to Misty. "You wanna catch it?"

"No, I'm good. I don't have the patience to train that thing"

Ash shrugged. He might as well catch the Pokémon, it's not it would matter too much.

He stepped out of the water and onto the grass where Misty was.

"Pikachu, Thundershock" Ash said.

Pikachu charged up its attack and launched it at the Magikarp which almost instantly fainted.

"I think it's a bit of a weak one too" Misty said.

Ash nodded. He threw a Pokeball at it anyway and waited for it to ding.

After a couple of shakes, the Pokeball did ding and Ash picked it up. The ball started to glow white and disappeared from his hand.

"Well, I hope Professor Oak has some kind of pond to put it in" Ash said. "Let's keep going, we need to reach Cerulean by nighttime"

Then, using his Aura powers, Ash sped up the pace of their walking and the two trainers made their way to Cerulean City.
