TESSA'S POV
"I'm not walking away from you", my voice barely goes above a whisper.
"It seems like you are, and I don't want you to walk away from me. You can't also go away", he says.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'm just mad at you and I can't be around you right now", I explain.
"Look, can I explain fully. I was just working with her, nothing else happened and I didn't understand where the time went by and I didn't check my phone, that's all. I saw you called, and I was gonna call back, but I forgot"
"So, you forgot me for some other girl?", I say.
"No. not in that sense. Look, if it makes you feel any better, I don't even like Audrey like that, she's just a very good friend", he comes closer to me and I let him, there's still one-foot distance between us.
"This isn't about her."
"Then what is it about? You're really worked about this"
"I was worried about you; you couldn't give me a message? You couldn't type a few words for me, 'Tess, Reached home, TTYL.' You need to speak to me about stuff. You can't just leave your phone like that for half of the day and not respond at all. I get worried", his face softens at my words and new emotions, which isn't sad, but more...loving runs across his features, his eyes become greener, richer.
"I will. I promise", he reaches out to take my hand and pulls me closer to him, Even though a part of me is still mad, my body betrays me.
"You're not mad, are you?", he plays with my fingers and then interlaces our hands. How did I give in so easily? I used to be a tough fighter, but with him, I can't.
"I am. I care about you a lot. A lot more than you deserve very honestly", I say.
"I am sorry. I should be more careful."
"No, I'm still mad. Who's Audrey and why do you spend so much time with her?".
"I'm sorry. Please, I don't want to spend time-fighting with you, I don't get a lot of time with you as it is", he hugs my waist, joining our bodies together.
"You're getting one pass. Only this one.", I throw my arms over his shoulders, and give him a kiss. I can't resist this man.
"You're staying then?"
"Yeah, I brought my controller to show you also". We both flop down on the couch, ready for Call of Duty.
"You have panda's here too?", he laughs at my controller and I throw him a death stare.
"Come on Tessa", he says, putting his headphones on.
"You left my bed this morning and then you didn't even text back if you reached? I was worried", I fire back, putting on my own headsets.
"It's not a big thing. I am not a baby"
"Excuse me, you were just now, with another woman, for a whole day, and your girlfriend, I, had no idea of this thing, what am I supposed to think of it when I come to find you like that. What if the roles were reversed?"
"I would kill the man", his eyes get dark with anger and his neck tenses.
"I know. I would too and now I don't wanna play, you ruined it".
"Why? You came here to play with me, right?"
"Play with Audrey", I snap back and go to leave.
"Tessa", he calls after I stomp out of the door, I'm just doing this to see if he follows me or not. I need to know if he cares about this. I would take my bag with me if I were seriously going away.
