TESSA'S POV
We're back in the office at our desks and it's soon going to be the time to end the day, finally a long day of brainstorming and working and it's gonna be coming to an end, and I cannot wait to just tuck myself in the bed and fall into the arms of sleep. It's been a long one, with the files coming and going out, so much data for input and to go through and so many little things to do in the middle of those.
I find myself busy and deeply engrossed in the monitor, typing away some more data and moving between pages upon pages of data to make sure it's correct when Nora walks into my office, and shutting the door which was ajar a while ago.
"Hi.", I greet her as she frantically walks towards my desk.
"There's no time for hello's, I need to tell you something really really important.", she says.
"Okay, before you tell me, first tell me what's it about? A little heads up would be good.", I ask of her.
"There's two things then.", she replies.
"I'll listen both Nora.", I let out a small laugh which seems to loosen her up.
"First one is about, Landon and me. Next one's about...Claudia.", she says warning me about both things. Ofcourse, how could one day of my life go smoothly with the cloud of Claudia surrounding and looming over me.
"Tell me about Landon and you."
"He's asked me to meet his parents once we leave from here.", she says excitedly.
"Oh my god. When was this? When did you guys have this conversation? Tell me everything", I ask, moving my attention to her.
"Today at the hotel. So, when we were paying and getting our things, I had gone to bathroom for a little minute, just to touch up on some lipstick, and when I came back, he asked me, if I was touching up my lipstick, and I said yes, I was. And he says and I quote, here this one Tess. He said, 'With the way that I know you, it seems like we are already married and live together.', and I just thought that he was being stupid and you know being funny and he then asked me, If I wanted to meet his parents and I asked how would we be able to do that? And he said, we could after we go back to the states.", she explains in great details about this to me.
"But I thought you guys had already met each others parents.", I say my suspicion out loud.
"We have exchanged phone numbers, we have seen photos and..ugh so his parents know that he's dating me and mine know that he's dating me, but we've not met in person ever.", she says.
"Oh. So this is the BIG BIG deal. I see. Well, for one, I'm really happy for you, because you guys just are doing everything right with your relationship and two, how are you not freaking out."
"Because, it's like half a month away. We aren't going back to the States in the next 25 days.".
"Still, I mean, it's a big deal. I have only ever met with Hardin's brother and I was sweating like a pig when that happened."
"I am, that's why I came here. They know me, they know what I look like, but they don't know what I am like, and the first time Landon and I met, was at a nightclub, by chance of fate. How am I supposed to drop that bomb on their head. Should I go, 'He's a fantastic boyfriend, and uh, we met in a nightclub back in 2020, and we've been seeing each other since, and oh, we work together, but it's not like what you think, Landon is a super nice boss.'." she pauses between her monologue. And says, "Do I say that?"
"No, but I don't think they should be kept in the dark regarding the part where you and him are currently co-workers", I say.
"I won't do that, but I just don't know how to do the rest of it. I feel like, I don't think his parents are gonna like me, I think they are a bit old fashioned in the sense.".
