"See, you can't tell me this wasn't a good idea!" Noah exclaimed gleefully, her voice projecting towards me through the roaring music. Familiar people stood around, some dancing to the beats and others just talking. Drinks were in their hands and vapes were between their fingers. "Let's grab a drink!"

Lucky for us, the Hunter's estate is walking-distance from my house. So we didn't have to worry about designated driving. Obviously, this meant to Noah that we have to get blackout drunk.

I enjoy drinking with friends and I think it can be fun, but at a huge party like this it maybe wasn't ideal to me. I've never drank in a big crowd before. Still, I'm going to go along with it because the last thing I'd ever want to be is a buzzkill. "Okay," I replied as loudly as I could to my best friend. We shuffled through on the wooden floors, the rooms getting more and more crowded as people flooded through the front door. Eventually we stumbled towards the far end of the living room, where there was a bar. A beer pong table was beside it, a few guys and girls playing the game.

After Noah and I grabbed ourselves some alcohol in red solo cups, we began mingling around, swaying a bit to the music. I pursed my lips and brought them to the rip of the plastic, sipping the cold vodka mixed with cranberry juice. "Ugh," I cringed lightly at the taste, the strong twang of liquor coating my tongue.

"Yeah!" Noah laughed, "I mixed us really strong drinks. We have to get wasted!" She cheered loudly. A couple of people around us heard her declaration and encouraged her with laughs and woos. I giggled as well a little bit. "Can't we just drink a normal amount?" I asked with a smile on my face, finding her drive and determination to get plastered entertaining. "Do we have to get blacked out?"

"Well, DUH!" She chugged her entire cup. Gulping boldly, she then licked her lips and used the back of her hand to swipe her mouth of any remaining cranberry juice. "It's on the agenda, remember?"

I shook my head, still grinning. "Ah, right." I followed her actions, swallowing my entire beverage in one shot. Noah squealed loudly at me drinking. "Yes! Have some fun, let loose!" She smirked.

I'm not sure why I'm going along so easily with whatever she is telling me to do, but at the end of the day this party is a celebration. Even my mother told me to get dressed up nice and have a good time. That's all I'm doing.

I soon felt a little bit of buzzing on my lips, and my temples on my head felt heavy. I knew I was getting drunk, however the sensation only made me desire more of what caused it. At this point, the music was loud as ever, and the area that Noah and I were standing at became quite filled. Everyone started drinking, and the house soon caught a powerful smell of weed. People danced and jumped to the music, and Noah and I did the same. "Should we get another?" I asked her loudly, shaking the empty cup in my hand.

"Eeee! That's my girl!" Noah shrugged her shoulders in happiness and grabbed my hand firmly. We pushed through the crowd once more and poured drinks. Near the beer pong table again, we saw a few other people this time.

"If it isn't miss Kameron Springfield," Austin Conynghim's voice grabbed my attention instantly. Holding my cup that's now filled to the brim, I turned around where I stood to face him. "Hey Austin!" I grinned widely, a little bit tipsy. I took a sip of my drink and embraced the feeling of relaxation that took over me. Anxiety, who? I should drink more often-- I feel great.
