there were a few things about you that osamu miya had come to know about you in the duration of your arrangement so far.

1. you liked food but hated ordering.

2. you weren't particularly close with either of your siblings.

3. your dad lived in france and was in the liquor business and you didn't hate him.

4. you were the best sex of his life.

5. it was very unlikely that you would rat out anything about your mom's company- but it didn't stop him from wanting to see you.

he would say you two were stuck somewhere between enemies with benefits and friends with benefits. he wasn't going to put a label to anything and neither were you.

but he wasn't even supposed to be thinking about you right now. he was supposed to be entertaining extended family that had come over to their house. his grandmother was here along with like four of his father's cousins and their children.

the house had been mayhem since takashi miya fell ill. relatives were coming over everyday and he was never alone.

some of them hadn't visited in over a decade and osamu honestly didn't approve because he was sure they were trying to gain his favour, hoping he'll add a little extra zeros to their names in his will.

atsumu was doing a great job nonetheless, being his usually charming self as their grandmother and aunts gushed over him.

"darling, why don't you come visit me more often?", the oldest woman asked, patting his cheek, "do you have a girlfriend?"

the question threw atsumu a little off his game and he stuttered before unsurely shaking his head. no, he definitely did not.

osamu took the opportunity to settle down on the couch in front of them, next to his dad. "can i get you all anything to drink before dinner?"

there were murmurs of agreement from everyone so he automatically got up and over to the marble counter behind which they usually stored all the alcohol.

he made easy conversation with them as he prepared each of their drinks and passed them around, talking about business plans and pretending to be interested in whatever was going on in their lives.

"so tell us, osamu. when are you getting married?", one of his aunts popped the question that he was dreading the most.

"oh well", he shook his head, "there isn't anyone i want to marry yet"

osamu did not despise the idea of marriage and to be fair he was twenty seven, an age by which his family definitely expected him to be settled down. but his last serious relationship-

"what about that beautiful girl?", his grandma recalled, "the one with the red hair that you liked?"

he sighed heavily as he recalled his ex. his ex that his whole family absolutely adored, who he loved deeply and who left him because being part of his family was too overwhelming to her and too soon for her.

seeing yukie at montreux was tough and you had proved to be a good distraction. but he would admit that she had not been on his mind lately, since he started sleeping with you.

"oh, we can find a prospective bride for you anytime, my son", his aunt insisted, looking somewhat sympathetic, "better than the redhead, i promise!!"

"yes osamu, don't you worry", atsumu chimed in unapologetically, patting his twin on the back and earning a glare from him, "arranged marriage is the right path for you"

"thanks for the offer, but i'll have to decline", osamu shook his head and laughed in a we're-not-that-close kind of way, "arranged marriage isn't my first choice right now"
