it had been six months since the montreux conference and the beginning of your complicated relationship with your biggest rival.

but it had only been three weeks since osamu miya told you he loved you. and three weeks since you said it back to him.

three weeks that had been absolute bliss. because he had been holding back from being affectionate towards you for a while and vice versa. now that there were no inhibitions, you were both way more open with each other.

in the months that he'd been seeing you, osamu miya noticed that for about a week every month, you barely texted him back and you definitely didn't meet him. it varied by a few days every month but the general duration remained the same.

of course he wasn't obtuse, so he understood that it was the week you got your period. so he didn't really think much of it in all those months.

but now, it was different. and it was absolutely unacceptable to osamu- not seeing you for a week? were you trying to kill him?

it was two days into said week and you'd barely responded to any of his texts. his morale was low all day, slowly hitting a lower low when his dad called him into his office.

takashi miya insisted on coming to the office once a month even now, when he was in the middle of a million medical treatments everyday.

he did not show it but he was a little disappointed when his son rejected yukie. he was a little closed off and while osamu felt guilty, he couldn't let his guilt influence an important life decision like this one.

"osamu, how are you?", the old man smiled

"i'm good, dad", he nodded, "you shouldn't be coming to work, it's very physically straining"

"oh stop it", he groaned, "i'm supposed to lecture you, not the other way around"

osamu chuckled unsurely, "so what's up?"

"do you have anything on the sakusas?", he asked expectantly

osamu paused. he hesitated, gulped and then said, "no, i don't"

he promised himself to not hurt you or betray what he had with you. and it was a promise he intended to keep at all costs.

"the clock is ticking, my son", takashi reminded

"yeah dad, i know"

you were in physical, mental and emotional hell.

because it was the second day of your god awful period. you'd gone to college and then to the office to get some work done for your mom. and when you got out of the building, it had begun to rain. your shoes were wet by the time you stumbled into the car.

the sky was dull and umbrellas were out and your shoes were too expensive and it felt like all the happiness was being sucked out of the world.

it had been a long, hectic day. the only thing you wanted to do was take medicine, get a heating pad and continue to watch a true crime documentary about some lady that cheated on her husband with the dude in her attic.

you didn't usually see osamu during this time of the month and there were several logical reasons for that.

firstly, he obviously wouldn't be able to fuck you- which was the main point of your agreement- so the meeting would be futile and pathetic.

secondly, you were very prone to break outs and you really didn't wanna meet him while you felt ugly every time you looked in the mirror. it did weird things to your self esteem and you didn't wanna feel insecure around osamu of all people.
