"Angel!" Mom yelled from downstairs. Everybody was decorating the cell phone tower like a Christmas tree, but I really wasn't in the mood to do anything.I went back to focusing on my phone. I called D an hour ago, but he didn't pick up and I hung up before I could speak in a voicemail, way too nervous.
I've made the biggest mistake in my whole life. I don't know why I put my thoughts to use. Now I'm even more a bad girlfriend than I already thought.
Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I put the phone to my ear.
It kept going over, but he didn't respond, getting a voicemail once again.
"Hey, D, I've made the biggest mistake. I shouldn't have broken up with you. I'm so sorry. You're right, you weren't flirting with the neighbor. You were probably just being nice. I can't hold you responsible for my insecurities. I need to tell you something. I-" my battery all of the sudden died.
"Fuck!" I shouted, throwing my phone on the bed and plugging it in before laying down next to it, crying my eyes out. "Angel" mom knocked on the door, slowly I heard it open.
"Are you okay, honey?" She rubbed my back and sat beside me on the bed.
"I'm the dumbest girl in the world, mom" I sat up, facing her as she immediately hugged me. "You're not, honey" she shushed.
"Yes, I am. I left him, while he's the best guy I could ask for" I sobbed. "It's okay, honey" she rubbed my back.
We got interrupted by my phone ringing, making me jump to the other side of the bed, not even checking the caller before picking up.
"D?" I asked hopefully. "Hello, ma'am. I'm calling to see if you would like-" "Leave me the fuck alone" I told the lady before hanging up the phone.
"Mom" I whimpered as she quickly came to hug me.
"Look who's here!" Brad exclaimed as I went downstairs. "Shut the fuck up, Brad" I mumbled, going straight to the kitchen where mom was.
"Got it" Brad sighed. I took a cup before putting some eggnog in it. "Angel, there's rum in there, don't drink that" mom told me.
I sighed and put the cup down and sat on the couch.
"All right. Somebody want to plug her in?" Dad asked, ignoring what I said, referring to the Christmas tree thing we have now.
"Yeah, I got it" Brad told him. Brad picked up the cable, making the Christmas tree light up a little. "Cool!" Dylan yelled.
Brad plugged it in, making the whole tree thing light up. I'm not gonna lie, I'm impressed.
"Wow" Dylan whispered.
"What do you think?" Dad asked from the ladder after putting the star on top of the tree.
