I've been trying to stay away from the house as much as possible today. I went straight to school, got a ride with my best friend Rosa and went shopping, smoking a little bit and just in general, taking my mind of my dad that's probably at home right now, acting like he has this great family waiting for him the entire time.

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay the night with Rosa since she's going to her dad's. Her dad already has few wife that has a shit ton of kids.

A lot of kids in a small place isn't really convenient, so I never stay the night at Rosa's since I didn't want to be a bother.

"Call me if you need anything, if he's annoying you, if you want to stay the night, anything" Rosa said as she pulled up to the house.

"I will" I smiled at her. "Bye bitch" I kissed her cheek and got out of the car. "Bye hoe!" She called out as she sped through the street, going home.

It was already dark out and I was just hoping that maybe dad was already asleep or something.

I looked to my right and saw a black motorcycle on the driveway. He really is here, huh? I was still kinda hoping this shit was a dream after all.

I walked towards the front door and opened it to see Dylan and Megan eating starbursts on the couch and dad talking with mom and Brad.

"Angel, kiddo" dad had a bright smile in his face, walking up to me with open arms.

Dad didn't change at all. He still looked young, just like mom does. The same bright smile that he gave me when I was a little girl.

"They can't have starbursts this late at night" is the first thing I said to him.

He stopped before me, frowning a little and dropping his arms to the sides. "Well, today is a cheat day, it's okay, right guys?" Dad asked Dylan and Megan, who agreed with a mouthful of starbursts.

"You haven't changed a thing kiddo, you look so grown up" he smiled at me. "That's because you've been missing from my life for the past five years" I told him with a straight face.

"Look, about that-" "I'm going to my room" I told mom.

"Wait, Angel, did you see dad's motorcycle?" Dylan grabbed my hand and dragged my towards the window.

"I saw it, buddy" I sighed. "Isn't it cool?" Megan squealed from beside me. "Super cool" I said sarcastically.

"What is that? An Indian?" Brad asked as he looked at the motorcycle. "Yep" dad nodded his head. "I believe they're manufactured in Minneapolis" Brad pointed out.

"I've never been, but that's the setting for The Mary Tyler Moore Show. And.. What's the other.. Rhoda. Which I wanna say was a spin-off" Brad chuckled awkwardly.

"Nobody fuckin cares, Brad" I mumbled and walked past him. "Language" mom warned.

"Damn, you really know your bikes, Brad. You ride?" Dad asked Brad impressed.
