3 days until Christmas
"Angel, stop checking your phone" mom sighed as she sat down next to me. We were in a bowling alley since the kids were bored in the house.

"Angel, it's your turn" Megan told me. "I'm not playing, Megs" I mumbled, keeping my eyes on my phone, still trying to see of D answered. Call me desperate, I don't give a fuck.

"Yes, you are" mom took my phone from my hand, giving me a stern look. "Fine" I sighed, grabbing a bowling ball and hitting a few cones.

"Happy?" I asked mom, sitting back down next to her.

Dad and grandpa were next, dad glaring at the side of grandpa's face.

"Hey, do you mind? Bowler's etiquette" dad told him, referring to not having two people bowl next to each other, apparently.

"What do you mean?" Grandpa asked him confused. "It means you're crowding me" dad explained. "What? You can't bowl with me here?" Grandpa teased him.

Dad threw the bowling ball without taking his eyes of grandpa, scoring a strike. Didn't get my bowling talents from dad, let me tell you that.

"That sounded like a strike" dad smirked at grandpa. Grandpa copied dad's moves from before, also scoring a strike.

"How's your hearing?" Grandpa raised an eyebrow at dad. "Dylan, come on, buddy, you're up!" Dad ushered him over. "Let's go, you can do this, okay?" Dad told him.

The kiddie rails went up, making grandpa stop dad from talking. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's with the kiddie stuff?" He asked dad.

"What? The rails?" Dad asked him, making grandpa nod his head. "It's how the kids learn how to bowl, dad" he explained like grandpa was stupid.

"You learn by fearing the gutter. Like in life, Dusty" grandpa responded. "Now, Kurt. The rails help a younger bowler build a positive self-image" brad butted in, making me roll my eyes.

"Dylan, come here" grandpa ushered him over. "Do you want to bowl with those sissy rails up, or do you want to stand and bowl like a man?" Grandpa asked him.

"I don't need the rails, I guess" Dylan responded. "Attaboy! I'm proud of you, kid" grandpa high fived him.

"Hey, I'm proud of you too, big guy, all right?" Dad told Dylan. "Dylan's going without the rails" brad told us.

"No rails? Whoo! All right, Dylan!" Mom said, a little too excited, pressing a button and making the rails disappear.

"Don't be afraid to release it high" Brad told him. Dylan threw the bowling ball, getting it in the gutter immediately.

"Good try, it's okay, buddy" I told him as I saw the disappointed look on his face.

"When he's up there with tears and 'I suck ah everything' business, that's on you, Mr. School of Hard Knocks" dad warned grandpa.
