Project Partners

Rylee's POV
It's been about a week since I transferred to this new school and I'm still really shy and scared of everyone. Mostly because most of the students are giants and I've been told giants are cruel towards humans and would eat you if you make them mad. Of course I didn't believe it but I'm still scared of what might happen. As I got to my last class, I felt intimidated by all the giants coming in like I usually felt when I see giants. However, there was one giant that caught my attention. His name was Harry. Where do I begin with Harry? I've heard he's the most popular guy in the whole school. He had the most beautiful green eyes, he's very well built, and every time he looks at me, he waves at me with the kindest smile I've ever. He's in all of my classes but I haven't been able to speak to him. I don't know if it's because I'm too shy or if it's because of my fear of giants. He seems like a sweet guy based on what I've heard but I'm scared of what might happen. That's when the teacher walked in. "Ok, class. I know you guys hate assignments on the weekend but I promise that this one is a fun one. You will be doing a report on a greek god, goddess, or anything from greek mythology and you get work in pairs." The class understood. "Alright, choose your partner." While everyone else was choosing partners, I hid my face afraid of who my partner might be. That's when I looked to see Harry coming over to the balcony for the humans to see me which made my heart beat really fast. "Don't be afraid, little one. I'm here to see if you wanted to be my partner." His voice was very booming yet surprisingly very calming as he spoke. Why would he want to be my partner? Wouldn't he rather work with one of the other giants? "I'm not gonna hurt you. I'll be very gentle." He seemed very sincere so I decided to give him a chance. I slowly climbed onto his very large, gigantic hand which was surprisingly very soft and warm.

Harry's POV
When I heard we were going to work in pairs, I was really happy because I've been wanting to work with Rylee. Some other people wanted to work with me but politely declined so I could work with Rylee. I definitely noticed how shy and scared she was and I don't blame her one bit considering some of the giants aren't very kind to the humans. But Rylee is very cute and seemed like a really sweet girl. She was definitely scared when I approached her but was able to reassure her as she climbed on my hand which tickled a little. "Wanna come over to my house after school?" I asked carefully lifting Rylee off the ground. "S-Sure." I was so happy she finally spoke despite being very shy. I let her go to her locker after class ended before bringing her over to my house so we can get started on our project. When I got home, I gently placed Rylee on the coffee table so we can decide what we want to do the project on. "I'm gonna go get something to snack on. Would you like anything?" Rylee shook her head no which made me realize how shy she is. "Why don't I just get you some water? Always best to stay hydrated."

Rylee's POV
I watched as Harry walked towards the kitchen and began looking around at how beautiful his house is. It felt very warm and welcoming. But I'm still scared of what might happen while doing the project. What if I mess up and he gets mad? And what would happen if he gets mad and he threatens to crush me or eat me or anything the giants do to humans? I began to cry in fear afraid of what might happen. That's when Harry came back. "Rylee, what's wrong?" I was too afraid to speak as I'm afraid of what he might say. "You're not afraid of me, are you? I know I'm a giant but I would never do anything to harm you." I looked up at Harry feeling bad for being scared but it was mostly about messing up on the project.

Harry's POV
I can definitely tell Rylee was afraid of giants and I don't blame her for feeling that way. She's definitely been hurt by giants in the past and for no reason. But I don't think that's her only fear. "I-I'm afraid of messing up on the project." She began to cry harder which broke my heart as she then told me the last time she worked with a giant. I knew that some giants hate human but poor Rylee was abused by a giant from her old school and would yell at her for one little mistake on a project. "You poor thing. Come here." I gently scooped Rylee into my hands and brought her into my chest for a gentle hug. "I am so sorry that happened to you. It really breaks my heart to see humans get hurt by giants for no reason. No one deserves to be treated like that. I don't know if you know this but I actually kept an eye on you because I heard some of the giants were gonna bully you and I told everyone of them to back off." I said still cradling her against my chest. "You did?" Asked Rylee. "Yeah. I was protecting you this whole time. When I saw you walk into class the first time, I could definitely tell how shy and scared you were. That's why I didn't approach you at first because I didn't want to startle you. But when we were told to pick our partners for this project, I couldn't wait any longer to talk to you. That's why I chose you as my partner." I then held Rylee in front of my face. "Plus, I think you're really cute."

Rylee's POV
I couldn't help but blush when Harry called me cute. "You really think so?" I asked shyly. "Of course I do, Rylee. You may be really small but you're so sweet, so kind, so cute, and so beautiful." I began to giggle in response. "You don't mind if I kiss you, do you? I promise to be very gentle and not eat you." I was hesitant when Harry asked to kiss me but he's really proven himself so I decided to let him. "Alright, Rylee. Close your eyes." I did as I was told but I started to shake a little until I felt Harry's ginormous lips lean against me as he kissed me. That's when I realized how gentle Harry was and kissed his bottom lip. "You're so cute." He then hugged me against his cheek. "Why don't we just relax tonight and watch a movie? We can start on the project tomorrow. And I won't pressure you to get it perfect or make you do anything too difficult for you. We'll get through this together." I agreed to that as I was tired after a long week. Harry also let me stay with him as he knew how lonely I was. Since that day, we became boyfriend and girlfriend, got an A on the project, and a bunch of other things together. We even laid in his hammock one night under the stars and he let me lay on his tummy. "It's so beautiful out tonight." I said. "It really is. Especially because I'm with my favorite girl." I giggled in response especially since he's tickling me. "I'm really glad we met, Harry." I said. "Me too, Rylee. And I'm really proud of you for not giving up." I began to feel really cold. "I'll keep you warm, sweetie." Harry then put a blanket over me to keep me warm. "You're the most gentle giant I've ever met. I used to have an extreme fear of giants because of many incidents in my past. All that fear went away when I met you. Thanks for coming in to my life, Harry." I snuggled deeper into Harry's tummy while wrapping myself in the blanket. "No problem, sweetie. I really don't blame anyone for being scared. It's perfectly normal for humans to be scared of giants. But when you took the time to get to know me, not only did I feel a lot of joy in my heart, I also felt happier. It's always best to get to know a giant who's actually very kind, gentle, and loving. People at school say that I'm the most gentle of all the giants and I'm also the biggest one." I then felt Harry gently pick me up and give me another kiss. "I love you, Rylee." Said Harry. "I love you too, Harry." I said as Harry placed my back on his tummy so we can continue to relax. It was a moment I would never forget.
